ICE CREAM CORNER

Hello – welcome! Thank you for popping by. I hope that you like today’s Blog Hop project.

It’s Wednesday – so it’s time for a FRESHLY BREWED PROJECTS BLOG HOP. This week’s theme is ICE CREAM CORNER.

No photo description available.

This is such a colourful and fun collection of products.

ICE CREAM CORNER SUITE COLLECTION (ENGLISH)

I have been making a lot more fun fold cards recently and decided to make one for this project. Now, this is going to sound all a bit ‘politically correct’ but I am going to name this card a tripod card because I really think calling it a ‘teepee’ card is a bit outdated.

So, here it is.

Isn’t it bright and colourful? One of the things I like about our Stampin’ Blends is that I can colour match ribbon if there is a pen in that colour. I used the Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blend for this project.

I made a custom envelope for the card because it is larger than usual.

The three pieces of card stock I used were cut to 5″x 5″ and scored diagonally. The hypotenuse is 7″, so the card definitely needed a larger envelope.

You can never have too scoops of ice cream on your cone or too many ice creams on your birthday. The ICE CREAM CORNER DESIGNER SERIES PAPER is a treat to create with. And, of course, you have to pop sprinkles on top.

Make sure that you visit the other Freshly Brewed Projects:

We would all appreciate you leaving us comments on our projects.

Happy stamping.

TECHNIQUE TIME – MASKS

Hello to my card making friends. Many of you may know that one of my goals this year is to participate more regularly in Blog Hops.

It has been a while since I joined the FRESHLY BREWED PROJECTS blog hop, but I’m working on my stamping schedule to make sure I include the themes and dates (fingers crossed).

The theme this week is MASKS. I chose to use a very simple masking technique for this card.

I wanted to create stacked ice cream cones but didn’t want to punch out separate ice cream tops.

I stamped one ice cream image onto a post it note and fussy cut it out. To create the ice cream trio stack I stamped the image in Gorgeous Grape onto Basic White card stock. The post it note was secured over that stamped image. I cleaned and reinked the stamp in Pretty Peacock and stamped the image a little lower. I repeated this step using Bermuda Bay.

The two ice cream stack was created using the same steps using Granny Apple Green and Mango Melody.

And, the Magenta Madness ice cream went solo. Finally, there was fussy cutting.

The waffle looking sheet from the ICE CREAM CORNER DSP pack was cut the cake cones.

The greetings were stamped using Bermuda Bay and Magenta Madness. This double stamping creates a colourful shadow.

Make sure you hop along to the other Freshly Brewed Projects participants for other great ways to make your cards shimmer.

The colours I chose to use are also the colours for #CI91.

I didn’t add glitter paper to the card but did use CLEAR WINK OF STELLA.

Happy stamping.

ANOTHER ICE CREAM BIRTHDAY GIFT BOX

I made this gift box on my Facebook Live on Wednesday. If you want to see how I made it, here is a link – just click on the image:

I used a sheet of Cinnamon Cider A4 card stock for the box base and a piece of the ICE CREAM CORNER DSP for the top.

The sheet of DSP I used is an amazing representation of a ice cream/waffle cone look.

I made a belly band to secure the box lid in place. I used the birthday greeting again and stamped it using Blackberry Bliss because it coordinates with the new Blackberry Bliss 1cm Striped Ribbon.

Can you guess which die set I used to cut the greeting? (HINT – it’s my favourite)

I have been doing so much fussy cutting recently and I’m getting better at it!

The lid of the gift box has is scattered with lots of fussy cut ice cream cones – some single, some double and some, the elusive triple.

I look at the lid and wonder whether I should add some more. I’m still undecided. What do you think? Should I add some more – fill some spaces?

Here’s another image with the belly band moved.

Should I add some more? Let me know!

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.

These are the products I used to make this gift box. If you live in Australia and want to order some of them, let me help you.
