GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #407 – SEASIDE BAY AND BEAUTY OF THE DEEP

I am really enjoying taking part in the weekly Global Design Project Challenges. This week’s GDP theme challenge is water creatures.

When I saw this challenge I knew which bundles I would be using – Seaside Bay and Beauty of the Deep.

I started with a piece of A4 Vellum paper and Stampin’ Blends in Granny Apple Green, Lost Lagoon and Night of Navy. By spritzing small amounts of isopropyl alcohol I created the watery design that I featured on the card. I also used it to stamp and heat emboss the images I used.

The card base is Lost Lagoon. I stamped the ‘seaweed’ image several times onto a Lost Lagoon panel before embossing it with the Painted Texture 3D Embossing Folder.

The 1″ strip of alcohol ink coloured vellum was attached to this embossed panel.

The white heat embossed images were cut using their coordinating dies from the Seaside Bay Dies and Beauty of the Deep Dies.

These lovely white images were attached to the panel using mini glue dots.

The greeting, from the Seaside Bay Stamp Set, was also stamped using Versamark and white embossing powder.

I used my new dies ready reference cards to find the best one to cut the greeting.

The Wonderful Thoughts Die was the best choice. I was able to reduce the length of the cut by repositioning the die and running it through the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine a second time.

The greeting panel was then positioned on the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The same ‘seawedd’ image was stamped on the card insert and envelope.

The final touch was to add some Tinsel Gems from the 3 pack.

I am very happy with this card – layout, colour and texture.

Tomorrow I have some Fathers’ Day cards to share with you.

Until then, happy stamping.

COLOUR INKSPIRATION #141

I have had my card made and sitting on my desk for over a week and I still managed to post it a day late. Here I was thinking 2023 would be my year to get back on track – seems like it’s still a work in progress.

The colours for this challenge are so rich and elegant but you get to choose the 4th colour.

To get your creative ideas flowing, make sure you check out the Crew’s Project in the CI#141 Album – https://www.facebook.com/media/set/…

May be art of furniture and text that says '#141 Very Vanilla Gold Basic Black 1 retiring 2021-23 In Color COLOUR COLOUR SPIRATION CHALLENGES'

The retiring 2021 – 2023 In Colour I chose was Evening Evergreen.

I kept the colours rich and elegant and selected the Seaside Bay Bundle to fit in with that.

The On Line Exclusive Basic 3D Embossing Folders has three different designs. I used the top left hand design to emboss a panel of Evening Evergreen card.

BASICS 3D EMBOSSING FOLDERS

The Distressed Gold Specialty Paper was perfect for this card. I used StazOn to stamp the greeting.

The gold pearl shell stamped using Versamark and then I heat set the Gold Metallic Embossing Power. For the Basic Black and Evening Evergreen shells, I stamped the image onto Very Vanilla card and then stamped the image again in Versamark. Clear Embossing Powder was then heat set on each to achieve the same glossy appearance.

Sadly, the Stamparatus is retiring soon. I will be keeping mine because it is so handy!

I used it as well for the central shell becuase I wanted to stamp the image on my Silicon Mat to reverse the image.

The three pearls were cut from a piece of Pearlescent Specialty Paper.

After all the paper and image elements were layered on the card front, I popped a green and black stitched rectangle behind the greeting layer that had three looks of gold twine secured behind it.
