FUN WITH PATTERNED PAPER

Hello and welcome! I am so delighted that you have popped by today. It is Wednesday and it is time for another Freshly Brewed Project Blog Hop.

This week’s theme is Fun with Patterned Paper. I decided to play with one of the amazing FREE Sale-a-bration Designer Series Paper packs – Penguin Playmates 12″x 12″ DSP. If you live in Australia, you can ‘earn’ this DSP pack with a minimum $90 order.

For this card, there is not a penguin in site. I used the alternate designs to create this card.

I know that I should be able to tell you the ‘right’ name for this card style, but I’m really not sure. The photos should tell you everything you need to know.

The small front panel has a layer of Misty Moonlight cardstock with several triangular pieces of the DSP radiating from the centre.

The greeting, from the In Symmetry Stamp Set, was stamped and fussy cut. Then I added trimmed Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop each word up to achieve height. The fianl touch, for this layer, was to add a few Opal Rounds.

When the smaller front layer is opened, you will find the full card front and the inside of the front flap, which can hold a gift card.

When the card front is opened, there is the card insert – a perfect place to write your message to the recipient of the gift card.

I finished the envelope with one of the die cut triangular pieces of DSP.

The sentiment, ‘Best Day Ever’, is perfect for so many different occasions. And, on those occasions, a gift card can be the perfect present.

How would you use these products? What would it look like?

Make sure that you pop by and see what the other Freshly Brewed Project team members have created:

Happy stamping.

POSTAGE STAMP CARD

Hello everyone! I am so pleased that you have taken the time to pop by and see my latest project.

As promised, there is no side step card today! Although, I must confess that I am still featuring the Pattern Party Designer Series Paper pack.

For this card I have used the black and white images of this DSP pack. I hope that you like what I have created.

My first step was to take the Rectangular Postage Stamp Punch and punch out one each of eight (of the 12) designs. Then I adhered these punched elements onto a Poppy Parade card front, ensuring there is relatively even spacing between each of the pieces.

I stamped the ‘thanks’ sentiment, from the Artistically Inked Stamp Set, using Poppy Parade ink before fussy cutting it and adhering it to the card front. Then I built up the four central punched DSP elements. Using Stampin’ Dimensionals to build up the layers, two have two layers and two have three layers. The areas with three layers is built up with one DSP layer glued to the card front, one Poppy Parade punched layer popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and the final DSP punched piece popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals – this adds amazing height to the card.

You should be able to see these layers in the image above. I added some punched DSP to the card insert and envelope, before attaching Matt Black Dots to the card front.

I am enjoying adding a photo of products used in my projects in my posts. Do you find them a helpful reference? I would like to know.

I love the way that the black and white DSP pieces look against the Poppy Parade card base. It is strong and bold.

What do you think? Who would you send this ‘thanks’ card to?

Happy stamping.

ONE MORE STEP

Hello! I am so very pleased that you have popped by to see my latest side step card. I hope you like it.

Yes, this is my third side step card in three days. (I promise there won’t be another one tomorrow!!!)

I have featured the same products as yesterday – Best Chapter Stamp Set and Pattern Party Designer Series Paper. This DSP is only available to order if you have placed an order, or have hosted an event, that is at least $310 AUD in value. With that total, you earn STAMPIN’ REWARDS starting at 10% – so, a $310 order earns you $31, which is the cost of this 48 sheet DSP pack. If you want more information about Stampin’ Rewards contact me.

This was meant to be my first Facebook Live project. However, I was having challenges colouring directly onto the stamp using my Stampin’ Write Markers™. So, I did what many of us are doing during challenging times, I ‘pivoted’.

I chose a different sentiment from the set and used Classic Stampin’ Pads in Granny Apple Green and Misty Moonlight instead of the Markers.

Just like yesterday’s card, I cut and adhered the strips of DSP to the card front. For this card, I needed to mindful of the colour sequence of each line – all three panels were cut 1″ longer than needed; the two 7/8″ strips were trimmed back 1″ from the top and the centre panel was trimmed back 1″ from the bottom. This is the same technique that I used for the Christmas in July card from Wednesday.

The sentiment was cut with a different shape from the Tasteful Labels Dies. I fussy cut the ‘Chapter’ and ‘Happy Housewarming’ elements and popped them up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I wrapped a length of Misty Moonlight Ribbon around the bottom section of the card front and tied it in place. Strips of the DSP were adhered to the card insert and envelope. My final touch was to use the Dark Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blend to colour three Opal Rounds. They look awesome on the sentiment panel.

I think it is great to see some of the products used in various projects. These are the majority that I used for today’s card. I have realised that I need to order some more of Misty Moonlight Ribbon – I onlt have about 4″ left and none in my standby drawer.

Do you know someone who is about to move into a new home? Would they like a ‘Happy Housewarming’ card from you?

Happy stamping.
