UP TO ANOTHER CHALLENGE

Hello and welcome! Thanks for popping by today to see my latest project.

I have the first of two cards that I made for a colour challenge – I’ll share the second card tomorrow.

The colours for this challenge remind me so much of the Handmaids’ Tale.

May be an image of text that says '#104 COLOU Vnk IENGES COLO SPIRATION Basic White 第 Cherry Cobbler 城 館 Basic Black'

For the first card, I decided to use Sweet Strawberry Stamp Set.

I started by stamping the strawberry plant stamp, in Tuxedo Black Memento, onto the Basic White card base. After using the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder to add texture to the piece of Basic Black cardstock, I then wrapped and secured two lengths of Black & White Gingham Ribbon around it. One of the ribbons was coloured using the Dark Cherry Cobbler Stampin’ Blend. Then I attached it a layer of the Be Dazzling 6″x 6″ Specialty Paper. This paper is one that is available during Sale-a-bration, with a qualifying order.

Using lots of Black Stampin’ Dimensionals, these layers were then positioned on the card front.

The strawberries were stamped and fussy cut. The Be Dazzling strawberry calyces were punched using the Strawberry Builder Punch. I used Mini Glue Dots to secure them to each of the strawberries. After attaching the strawberries to the card front, I stamped and cut the greeting to add to the card.

The challenge gave me the perfect reason to choose an ‘older’ stamp set to use. It also meant that I used Cherry Cobbler ink and cardstock both of which have been collecting dust for a while.

What do you think of my dazzling strawberries?

Until tomorrow’s post, happy stamping.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Hello and thanks for popping by today to see my latest project.

This is the third card that I have made drawing inspiration from the Sentimental Rose Card Kit.

Today’s card is inspired by the floral birthday card.

I started by water colouring a piece of Shimmery White cardstock in a similar way to the kit card. Then I used the dark Gray Granite Stampin’ Blend to create the flecks across the front. The edges of the layer were distressed to create extra texture. I tied and trimmed a length of Gray Granite Shimmer Ribbon and wrapped it around the water coloured layer.

The Flirty Flamingo layer was embossed using the Bark 3D Embossing Folder. This layer was then attached to the Gray Granite card base at an angle and the water coloured layer was offset over the first layer.

I took a Square Vellum Doily and used it as a mask to create the Gray Granite square layer. It was popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I water coloured a second piece of Shimmery White card stock for the rose and leaves. Once the paper was dry, I stamped the images and fussy cut them. They were layered, adhered and popped up on the doily layer. The birthday greeting was stamped and trimmed down before it was placed on the card.

To finish the card, as you may know, I stamped the rose on the card insert and envelope. Last, but not least, I used a dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blend to colour some Pearl Basic Jewels.

I enjoyed making the three sample cards from the Sentimental Rose Card Kit for my upcoming Coffee and Card class. And, it was fun to see what I could create bu using those three cards as inspiration. What do you think?

Happy stamping.

A SENTIMENTAL ROSE

Hello and welcome to today’s post. Thanks for popping by.

My project is a second card inspired by the Sentimental Rose Card Kit.

Today’s card is based on the ‘thank you’ card in the top right hand corner of the image above.

This card also let’s me show a way to use Embossing Folders for this week’s Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop.

I started by recreating the soft, watercolour wash using Flirty Flamingo, So Saffron and Soft Succulent. Then I used the new Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder to add texture to a piece of Shimmery White cardstock. The next step was to flick the brush end of the same colour Stampin’ Blends to achieve some great splatter effect.

After the embossed layer was attached to the card front, I stamped the rose image three times – without reinking it. When the three floral layers were cut, scrunched and glued together it was attached to a Square Vellum Doily and popped up on the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut a length of Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon, cut it in half and tied a double bow, using some Silver Simply Elegant Trim to secure it. A Mini Glue Dot was used to attach it to the card front. The birthday greeting was stamped in Soft Succulent and was cut using one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

The finaI step was to stamp the rose on the card insert and envelope.

Make sure you pop on over to see what the other Freshly Brewed Projects team has created to share with you:

Now I have another very pretty birthday card to add to the birthday box. Who would you give this card to?

Happy stamping.
