TUESDAY IS MY DAY FOR SHARING TECHNIQUES & TIPS

I have another black and gold project to share with you today.

The technique I am featuring is EMBOSSING – both dry and heat embossing.

I am using the new Sunflower 3D Embossing Folder (166145 $21AUD).

To prepare for this card I embossed two panels of Basic Black card. Then I applied Versamark to one and sprinkled WOW Gold Embossing Powder across it. I still love watching the powder ‘melt and turn into a shining gold feature.

I added a gold foil panel to the Basic Black card base before placing the embossed black layer.

Then I fussy cut some of the gold embossed sunflowers.

TIP: When heat embossing run an embossing buddy over the card to ensure that more Versamark adheres to the card. Then sprinkle the powder over the card, above an embossing tray. Use a fine paint brush to dust away any powder that is sitting in an area where it shouldn’t.

The fussy cut sunflowers were positioned on the embossed layer using Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The greeting, from the Choose Happy Stamp Set (163701 $37AUD).

THIS IS NOT THE STAMP SET I USED – IT SHOULD BE A PHOTO INCLUDING THE CHOOSE HAPPY STAMP SET.

The Christmas greeting was stamped using StazOn Jet BLack ink onto some gold foil. Then I used a banner die, from the stylish Shapes Dies, to cut the greeting.

The banners were then added to the card front using dimensionals.

With all the bright, bold gold I decided not to add any more bling.

What do you think?

Tomorrow I will have another gold project to share. I will be using the Metallic Textures Run-ons again.

Until then, happy stamping.

MONDAY MEANS THAT IT IS TIME FOR SOME MEMORY KEEPING

This week I am going for GOLD!

Each post will feature a project using Basic Black and Gold.

The double scrapbooming layout I have created is titled ‘ALL THAT GLITTERS’ and has five 3″x 3″ photograph spaces and a journalling panel that sit on one the Playful Banners Dies. I cut them from Gold Foil Speciality Paper.

Most of this week’s projects also use the Metallic Textures Rub-ons that you can find on p.124 of the Annual Catalogue (165270 $24).

I started by adding the diagonal gold rub-on design to the black 12″x 12″ base.

Then I added the gold foil banners. Each banner had black Stampin’ Dimensionals popped on the back to ensure they were lifted up from the page.

After adding Adhesive Sheets to the back of some more gold foil, I cut the letters for the title using the Mini Alphabet Dies.

I use a quilting ruler to help me position the letters.

To finish this page I die cut flowers from the Delightful Wishes Dies to add to the page.

For the second page, I also started by adding the Metallic Textures Rub-ons elements.

Then I added three gold banners across the page. Two are for photographs with the last one for journalling.

The journalling page was created using the Just a Note stamp set and dies. It was added to the banner using dimensionals. I also die cut a gold foil clip to add to the note page.

Finally, I added lots of small flowers from the Delightful Wishes Dies.

The Metallic Textures Rub-ons could so easily be missed if you are not being vigilant when you cruise through the current Annual Catalogue.

Tomorrow I have a project featuring both DRY & HEAT EMBOSSING TECHNIQUES.

Until then, happy stamping and scrapbooking.

FUN FOLD FRIDAY IS ALWAYS A FUN WAY TO SPEND THE DAY

Today I have a Multi Fold Card to share with you. I recently watched a reel, on Facebook, by Heidi Collins from On Y Go Stamping where she showed how to create this card style.

As you know this week I have been featuring the Weekend Adventures products from the OnLine Exclusives range.

I loved the enamel style camp cup that is in the stamp set.

The paper design with the boot print, compass and enamel mug helps create a perfect camping/hiking themed card.

I used another technique for this card – masking. By using this technique I was able to have the mugs look as thoiught they were stacked.

When the card is opened out this is what you will find inside.

I used some of the sticker elements to decorate the card.

To finish the card I added some white dots from the Neutral Matte Dots pack.

This week has been so much fun using the Weekend Adventures products. I hope you have enjoyed seeing projects that are not scrapbooking alone. A kit of products like this make it easy to make cards and 3D projects as well.

Next week I will use another collection of products to create projects with.

Until then, happy stamping and scrapbooking.
