FINALLY IT’S FRIDAY AND TIME FOR A FUN FOLD CARD OR TWO

Today I have two cards that were inspired by one of Dawn Olchefske’s fun fold cards that I recently came across.

The fun fold is a HORIZONTAL GATE FOLD CARD.

Both cards feature the Floral Charm Suite Collection.

The Pretty Peacock card base had panels of the coordinating DSP adhered to each side.

Then two horizontal Blackberry Bliss panels were added – one on each side. These panels then had coordinating DSP added to them.

To hold the horizontal panels in place I stamped, coloured and die cut the large floral image from the Charming Day Bundle.

I looped three lengths of silver ribbon, from the Gold & Silver Trim pack, and secured them to the back of the floral shape.

The floral image was secured to the bottom horizontal panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped the birthday greeting to a piece of Basic White card and used dimensionals to attach it to the top horizontal panel.

The greeting panel locks in behind the floral die cut.

The smaller floral image was stamped on the card insert and the back of the envelope.

The second card is a variation of the first one.

This one has an opening belly band instead of the horizontal flaps.

I wrapped a 1 1/2″ piece of Night of Navy card around the card and burnished the edges.

Using the Encircle with Love Stamp Set I stamped the greeting and used the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch to cut it. Then I used the 1 7/8″ Circle Punch to cut out a Night of Navy circle.

A small Velcro circle was added to the belly band to enable the band to be opened and closed.

The card insert and envelope each had more of the same DSP added to finish them.

Some gems from the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems were added to the front of the card.

Next week I will have some more projects to share with you.

Until then, happy stamping and scrapbooking.

AN EXTRA POST THIS WEEK

I used the same suite of products to make an extra project this week.

My daughter asked me to make a birthday card for her partner’s mum. I’m always happy to create a card for a specific person.

After showing her some of the designs from the Painterly Pears DSP pack, she chose the one I used for this card.

It is a super simple card but so gorgeous because of the paper design and colours.

I used an Old Olive card base and then a panel of Petal Pink card as a layer for the DSP.

Before adding the stamped and punched greeting, I added two this card layers as alternative to using lengths of ribbon.

The greeting, from the Encircled in Love Stamp Set, was stamped then coloured using the Light Petal Pink Stampin’ Blend Pen.

The greeting was punched out with the 1 3/4″ circle punch and then added to a 1 7/8″ Petal Pink circle.

I stamped and coloured the same image onto the back of the envelope.

I stamped the birthday wishes greeting inside the card.

Mission accomplished – my daughter is very happy with the card I made.

Next week I will have some more projects to share with you.

Until then, happy stamping and scrapbooking.

IT’S TIME FOR A 3D THURSDAY SHARE

I recently bought a raspberry scented soap to create a gift box to pop it in. When we have guests I like to place a gift box, with soap in it, on their bed.

The soap was a perfect match to Melon Mambo card and the pinks in the Painterly Pears Designer Series Paper.

After creating the gift box I added a piece of the DSP to the top of the lid.

I used one of the stamps from the new Encircled in Love Stamp Set. It was stamped using the Secret Sea ink. Then I coloured the bow using the Light Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blend.

The 1 3/4″ circle punch was used to punch out the stamped image. A length of Swcret Sea Faux Linen Ribbon and secured it under the circle.

Then I took the new 1 7/8″ circle punch and cut a Daffodil Delight circle to position under the white circle.

Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I attached the circles to the top of the box.

Tomorrow I have two fun fold cards to share with you.

Until then, happy stamping and scrapbooking.
