ICE CREAM CORNER

Hello – welcome! Thank you for popping by. I hope that you like today’s Blog Hop project.

It’s Wednesday – so it’s time for a FRESHLY BREWED PROJECTS BLOG HOP. This week’s theme is ICE CREAM CORNER.

No photo description available.

This is such a colourful and fun collection of products.

ICE CREAM CORNER SUITE COLLECTION (ENGLISH)

I have been making a lot more fun fold cards recently and decided to make one for this project. Now, this is going to sound all a bit ‘politically correct’ but I am going to name this card a tripod card because I really think calling it a ‘teepee’ card is a bit outdated.

So, here it is.

Isn’t it bright and colourful? One of the things I like about our Stampin’ Blends is that I can colour match ribbon if there is a pen in that colour. I used the Dark Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blend for this project.

I made a custom envelope for the card because it is larger than usual.

The three pieces of card stock I used were cut to 5″x 5″ and scored diagonally. The hypotenuse is 7″, so the card definitely needed a larger envelope.

You can never have too scoops of ice cream on your cone or too many ice creams on your birthday. The ICE CREAM CORNER DESIGNER SERIES PAPER is a treat to create with. And, of course, you have to pop sprinkles on top.

Happy stamping.

The ICE CREAM CORNER DESIGNER SERIES PAPER is amazing. I didn’t use any of the ice cream images for these cards.

As you can see below – I’ve made plenty of cards for January customer orders. Don’t miss out on one of these – I would love to send you one!

3D STAMPING BLOG HOP

For this week’s Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop, the theme is 3D STAMPING.

Those of us who are hopping along, post our links to this private group – but you can see everyone elses’ projects by clicking on their links below.

To be totally honest, I had to find out what that was because it wasn’t a familiar technique term. Thanks to Google, I discovered very quickly what the technique is (and I have used it AGES ago). It was nice to have the opportunity for a refresher.

This technique involves creating a 3D look by overstamping a solid, stamped image with a slightly darker ink. Sounds easy – and, it is.

For this project, I decided to use the LOYAL LEAVES STAMP SET. I thought the intricate leaves designs would look amazing with a 3D (shadow) effect.

Here is the end result.

I positioned each of the leaves stamps onto my Stamparatus. The next step was to ink up the stamps with a refreshed/reinked Whisper White Craft Stampin’ Pad. Once the craft ink was dry, I slightly adjusted the position of the cardstock – a little up and to the left.

After cleaning the stamps, I reinked them with Mossy Meadow and stamped again.

You cannot help but admire the detail in these stamped images.

The reason that I didn’t use my F Block was because I made a number of these cards and also repeated this for the front of another project that I will show you soon.

The OLDER AND WISER greeting is a fun way to remind someone that are, in deed, getting older.

And, when someone is being teased about getting older, that person may need to be comforted with chocolate.

In keeping with the card concept, I decorated a 3D slider card in the same way.

The BRAIDED LINEN THREAD and MOSSY MEADOW BRAIDED LINEN THREAD are perfect for this project.

And, by pulling gently on the tab the sweet treat is revealed.

If you are going to give chocolate, always make sure it is a good one.

This project, like many of mine, uses just three colours – CRUMB CAKE, MOSSY MEADOW and WHISPER WHITE – just keeping it simple.

What do you think? Who is ‘older and wiser’ that you would send this to?
