BIRTHDAY BONANZA TRIO

The BIRTHDAY BONANZA SUITE is such a bright, colourful and fun collection of products to make any birthday celebration an event!

These three cards were made for a Stampin’ Up! ® demonstrator challenge. The theme this month is BIRTHDAY and the supplies we can use are limited to stamps, ink and paper (specifically, Designer Series Paper).

The benefit of photopolymer stamps is that you can see exactly where you are stamping, so you can achieve even spacing.

All three strips of DSP are from the same paper bundle and they coordinate with six Stampin’ Up! colours. I only stamped with five of the colours for two of the cards. For the candle card, I used one colour and used the stamping off technique to achieve two shades.

#simplestamping is not my usual stamping style but it’s refreshing to use the basics.

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.

MUSIC FROM THE HEART

My grandfather was a renowned violinist and my grandmother an accomplished soprano … and, although I sang in the school choir in primary school, I am essentially lacking any musical skills.

But that doesn’t mean that I lack a love for music … all types (no, most types). Music has the ability to lift your spirits, be your background rhythm, evoke emotions, be therapeutic, fill the silence … as many different roles as there are people.

For this card, I wanted to keep it simple. Stamping, use of two colours, a little fussy cutting and a little bling. I hope you like the result.

I am very pleased with my little blue birds.

Thanks for dropping by … happy stamping.

BEAUTIFULLY BRAIDED

Slowly working my way through the new products from the January to June 2020 Mini Catalogue has been a ‘labour of love’ … I love the diversity of the images and styles and possibilities.

Today is all about the Beautifully Braided photopolymer stamp set and coordinating Braided Border Punch.

The main leaf image in this stamp set is simply stunning.

I wanted the card to include a single stamped image with water colouring … my favourite type of colouring, messy. This is the first time I have used the Fluid 100 Water Colour Paper … thumbs up.

Soft Sea Foam and Petal Pink are perfect … and the small piece of coordinating ribbon just finishes the card off.

As you can see, I have also stamped the same image onto one of the mini pizza boxes from the Annual Catalogue.

The punch was used to cut a length of braid to wrap around three sides of the box. Before I attached it, I used some Frost White Shimmer Paint with a drop of Soft Sea Foam reinker and painted this across the braid, giving it lovely shimmer.

Finally, I used another piece of the Petal Pink Metallic Edge Ribbon to tie and attach a bow.

mmm … very happy!

Tomorrow, I’ll be playing with music.

Thanks for dropping by … happy stamping.

mmm … Michele
