SATURDAY IS ALL ABOUT SHARING SOME CHALLENGE PROJECTS

Today I have my submission for this week’s Global Design Project Theme Challenge – Balloons.

At first I planned to use my new Hot Air Balloon Bundle but I can’t find where my dies have got to.That probably means that I should give my craft space a good tidy up.

So, instead, I used my Beautiful Balloons Bundle – you can never have too many balloon stamps and dies in your collection.

i wanted to make a clean and simple card for this challenge.

I started by stamping the balloon images in Parakeet Party, Sweet Sorbet and Tahitian Tide. Then they were cut using their coordinating dies.

My new Online Exclusive Sweetly Scripted Cling Stamp Set arrived on Thursday so I was able to use it for the balloon streamers.

I also die cut three balloons in the matching cardstock and embossed them with the Basics 3D Crosshatch Embossing Folder. Two of these were adhered inside the card and the third on the back of the envelope.

Finally, I added some Parakeet Party embellsihments from the 2022 – 2024 In Colour Pearls.

Monday I will start sharing projects using Poetic Expressions Suite Collection.

Until then, happy stamping.

IT’S FRIDAY & TIME FOR SOME FEATURES AND A FUN FOLD CARD

This amazing suite collection (162613 – $221.50AUD) comprises the Painted Lavender Stamp Set and Dies Bundle and the Perrenial Postage Stamp Set and Dies Bundle, Paper Butterfly Accents, Purple Fine Shimmer Gems and Perennial Lavender 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper.

The DSP colours are Berry Burst, Blackberry Bliss, Fresh Freesia, Gorgeous Grape, Highland Heather, Lost Lagoon, Orchid Oasis, Pretty Peacock, Shaded Spruce and Starry Sky. The Gems are Berry Burst, Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather.

The Painted Lavender Stamp Set has 11 photopolymer stamps and they are all floral and leaf images. The coordinating 8 dies are perfect for cutting out your stamped images. Two of the dies cut multiple images – 2 butterflies and 4 small flowers.

The Perennial Postage Stamp Set has 10 Cling Stamps created using two different fonts – and I haven’t used them at all this week because I wanted to highlight how other stamp sets can be used with new products.

My favourite in this collection is defintely the Perennial Postage Dies. There are 12 in total and are going to be so versatile.

The last project for the week is a Fun Fold Card inspired by Jackie Boluis’ Fun Fold Card Collection. I tweeked the measurements for our A4 cardstock.

It is a Spanner Panel Card.

I started with a Fresh Freesia card base (5 3/4″ x 8 1/4″), folded it in half and cut the front side panels 1 1/2″ in from each side.

I cut the front DSP panels at 4″ x 1 3/8″ and adhered them.

The centre front panel had a Cross Hatch embossed panel of Basic White cardstock adhered to it.

A 4 1/8″ x 1″ piece of Fresh Freesia card had a 4″ x 7/8″ piece of DSP attached to it. The ends of this piece was then adhered to the outer panels.

Linen Thread was wrapped several times around the inner panel and tied into a bow.

Inside the card I attached another DSP design measuring 5 5/8″ x 4″.

A piece of 3 7/8″ x 2 5/8″ of Basic White was added inside the card for a personal message to be written. This is the same size of Basic White that I used for the embossed piece.

I attached DSP to the back of the envelope.

The greeting, from the Stippled Rose Stamp Set,was stamped using Shaded Spruce before being trimmed and adhered to the card front.

Finally, I used the Purple Fine Shimmer Gems to the card for a little sparkle.

I have enjoyed highlighting the Perennial Lavender Suite Collection this week and the way it can work well with so many other Stampin’ Up! products.

I think I’m going to be highlighting the Heartfely Hexagons Bundle next week.

Until then, happy stamping.

THURSDAY MEANS IT’S TIME FOR A 3D PROJECT

I was so delighted when I found a lavender soap and bath bomb recently. I knew it would be perfect for this week’s 3D project.

Taking measurements to create these simple lidded boxes is always so much fun. When I was a Home Economics teacher I loved using measurements to draft patterns for sewing. I think it’s the challenge of visualising something in 3 dimensions, creating a pattern in 2 dimensions and then seeing it come together and fitting the way you want it to.

I thought that I’d show you inside the boxes first.

I used Highland Heather A4 cardstock to create the two box bases and their lids.

After cutting and scoring the box bases and lids, I carefully cut two of the DSP designs so that all panels were matching on the lid.

The two boxes were stacked and I used a length of Natural Wavy Trim to hold them together. Then I tied them in place.

I stamped the greeting using the Stippled Rose Stamp Set and then cut them using larger of the two square postage dies from the Perennial Postage Dies. Another postage square was cut using Highland Heather cardstock.

I punched a small hole in the two postage squares and looped some Linen Thread through the hole. They were then tied onto the Wavy Trim.

To finish the boxes, I added some Purple Fine Shimmer Gems.

I am so happy with these gift boxes and cannot wait to find the right person to gift them to.

Tomorrow I have a Fun Fold card to share with you.

Until then, happy stamping.
