FLOWER POWER

Hello everyone. Thanks for taking the time to pop by to check out today’s project.

Today I have a card for this week’s Global Design Project theme challenge – #303 is all about Flower Power.

For my card I decided to use the Sweet as a Peach Stamp Set.

I started by stamping the flowers. To do this, I used sponge daubers to apply the colours to each flower before stamping onto Shimmery White cardstock. The coordinating dies from the Peach Dies set were used to cut the flowers. I also stamped and die cut some of the leaves.

I used a Basic Black card base and adhered a panel of paper from the You’re a Peach Designer Series Paper pack.

The Paper Lattice piece was popped up onto another piece of Basic Black cardstock using Black Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then the black panel also popped up with dimensionals.

Some of the flowers had some leaves attached to the back. Then I started attaching the flowers and had them cascade down the lattice.

The birthday greeting was stamped in Calypso Coral ink and was then cut using one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies. Guess what? It has double dimensionals holding it up.

I added some Elegant Faceted Gems and a small bow of Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon that was cut in half. The last thing I did was to paint some Clear Wink of Stella across all the flowers and leaves.

I really like the Paper Lattice pieces. They are going to be so much fun to create with.

What do you think? Have you used the Paper Lattice pieces yet?

Until tomorrow, happy stamping.

GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #GDP294

Hello to each of you who have taken the time to pop by today. Thank you – I am grateful that you have. If you ever have any questions about my projects, please just ask.

I am posting my Global Design Project design early this week (woohoo – how’s that for being organised!)

Last week was a colour challenge and, for the first time, my card was chosen as one of the winning projects. I was so delighted when I saw the GDP post.

This week is a sketch challenge:

For today’s project I have continued to focus on the You’re a Peach Suite, as well as the Tailor Made Tags Dies.

I started by using the second largest of the angled tag dies to cut out spaces in a piece of the You’re a Peach Designer Series Paper because I wanted to create a negative space to correlate with the angled features of the sketch challenge. This layer was then popped up onto a Calypso Coral cardbase using Foam Adhesive Strips.

Then I cut two more, smaller tags – one in Balmy Blue and one in the striped DSP. The Balmy Blue tag was embossed using one of the Greenery Embossing Folders. Each tag had a die cut reinforcement in Calypso Coral added. Then small lengths of Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and Basic White Baker’s Twine, from the Essentials Pack, were tied through the tag opening. The sentiment, from the Sweet as a Peach Stamp Set, was stamped using Calypso Coral onto Basic White cardstock before being trimmed down. Finally, I added some 2021-2023 In Colour Jewels onto the card front. I used the Soft Succulent jewels that appear to be a blue/green on the paper.

I used the smallest of the angled tag dies to cut pieces of DSP and cardstock to layer and adhere to the card insert and front of the envelope.

I am so pleased with the way this card looks. Participating in blog hops and challenges is a great way to create in ways I would not normally choose myself. It’s always good to move out of your comfort zone, from time to time, and keep things new and fresh.

What do you think? Is this the type of card you would have made using this sketch challenge?

Happy stamping.

BIRTHDAYS IN THE CLOUDS

Hello and thank you for popping by to check out today’s project.

As you might guess, I’m using the You’re a Peach Suite again (and, I probably will for a couple more projects to come).

BASIC BORDERS DIES

I’m also using the Basic Borders Dies for the first time. I chose the cloud/curved border for today’s card.

YOU'RE A PEACH 12" X 12" (30.5 X 30.5 CM) DESIGNER SERIES PAPER

The Designer Series Paper is just gorgeous! I thought that the Balmy Blue flowers and stripes would be perfect together.

I started with a Balmy Blue card base. Then I used one of the Blending Brushes to lightly colour the Basic White layer with the Balmy Blue ink. The DSP players were cut with the die positioned in different positions across the cutting plates of my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine.

I layered and adhered the DSP pieces so that they would leave enough of the brushed blue base layer peeking through at the top and bottom. I also added some die cut blue striped DSP to the card insert and envelope. A double bow was attached to the card using a Mini Glue Dot.

The stitching is one of my favourite features on many of the dies in the Stampin’ Up!© catalogue. There are few Blue Adhesive-Backed Gems on the card also.

I am so happy with the way this card looks – I love the soft, round, striped clouds that frame the clusters of flowers. What do you think?
