THE CRAFT OF GIVING

Hello and welcome. Thanks for popping by today.

It is Wednesday and time for this week’s Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop. The theme is the Craft of Giving. Projects could include a bag, box or gift card holder.

I decided to use the new Kraft Gift Boxes from the July – December Mini Catalogue for my project.

I used the Tidings of Christmas Suite, from the Annual Catalogue, as well. The first step was to remove the acetate piece from one of the gift boxes so that I could make a template to cut card stock and Designer Series Paper.

The first layer that I adhered to the lid of the box was a piece of Evening Evergreen cardstock. I used the template to cut out the shape of the opening.

I used the same template to do the same with a piece of Tidings of Christmas 6″x 6″ DSP. After I adhered this piece to the lid of the box, I created a mitred Cherry Cobbler frame to coordinate with the strips of Real Red that I attached to the sides of the box.

A piece of Evening Evergreen was cut, using the template, and then embossed with the Merry Melody 3D Embossing Folder. It was then cut in half diagonally so that the gift could peek through.

I gathered up a length of Cherry Cobbler and Gold Metallic Ribbon to add to the card front – it almost looks like tinsel.

The stars from the Christmas Trimmings Dies were positioned using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then, I made the gift tags using the Tailor Made Tags Dies and Gold Shimmer Ribbon to decorate the tags.

To ensure the simple gift of chocolate doesn’t slide around, I made two inserts to hold it in place.

What do you think? Would you like this gift?

Make sure you hop on over to see what the other Freshly Brewed crew have made.

Until next time, happy stamping.

GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #304

Hello. I’m a bit late posting today but I have finally made it. Thanks for popping by.

This week’s GDP Challenge is CASE the Designer. The designer in Kerstan Kreis from Germany.

CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit

As a guide, participants are to take something we like from the design and make it our own. It might be the stamp set – the colors, the layout, the theme, the images – whatever we like that has inspired each of us to make a card of our own.

I decided to copy the woven features of Kerstan’s card. As a one time Home Economics teacher I thought that it would fun to weave some ribbons. I chose colours that would suit an Autumn palette so that I could feature one of the Stitched Leaves Dies.

The first thing I did was to weave three ribbons together – Cherry Cobbler & Gold Metallic Ribbon, Gold Shimmer Ribbon and Old Olive/Pretty Peacock Reversible Ribbon. I secured the ribbons in place and made sure they were taut.

I used one of the Stitched Leaves Dies to make a negative space and frame to feature the ribbons. Black Stampin’ Dimnesionals were used to lift the frame above the ribbon. A layer of Gold Foil was placed underneath.

The Cherry Cobbler card base was cut using the Stitched Greenery Dies.

The greeting is from the Lovely You Stamp Set and it was heat embossed, onto a small scrap of Basic Black, using Gold Stampin’ Emboss Powder.

After cutting a second leaf, I adhered one on the card insert and one on the front of the envelope. Finally, some Gold Metallic Pearls were added.

I am so very pleased with the way my GDP Challenge card has turned out. Participating in these weekly challenges is a great way to encourage me to design better cards.

Until next time, happy stamping.

STRONG OF HEART

Hello! I am delighted that you have popped by to see today’s project.

The Srong of Heart Stamp Set can be found in the July – December Mini Catalogue. One of the main benefits of this set is that for every one sold, Stampin’ Up!® will donate $4.25 AUD to support heart health.

STRONG OF HEART CLING STAMP SET (ENGLISH)

For the card and gift bag I chose the ‘You amaze me!’ sentiment.

The colour combination is Pale Papaya and Soft Succulent, from the 2021 – 2023 In Colours, along with Basic White and Vellum. I stamped the brushed heart across a strip of cardstock, alternating the image.

I used the Scalloped Contours Dies to cut the layers that were positioned under the hearts layer.

The 2021 – 2023 In Colour Ombre Gift Bags make it so quick and easy to decorate it. The same heart was stamped on the bag front and onto a die cut piece of Soft Succulent cardstock. The tag also has the same sentiment as the card.

The coordinating ribbons were cut in half and tied into the triple bow.

And as I usually do, I stamped the heart on the card insert and envelope, before popping some In Colour Gems on the card front.

The coordinating In Colour Jewels are so, so pretty. There are endless possibilities when you realise how many ways Stampin’ Up! products coordinate.

What are your favourite product mix and match combinations?

Until tomorrow, thanks for popping by.
