HAPPY BIRTHDAY

Hello and welcome back. Thanks for popping by.

I chose a piece of paper from the Painted Christmas Designer Series Paper to make a birthday card – I always love trying to find new ways to use a product that seems to have only one use.

This piece of DSP also gave me the colour scheme – Real Red and Calypso Coral. This is a simple layout and great for an inexperienced card maker. After I adhered the DSP to the Calypso Coral layer I wrapped and secured a length of Real Red Mini Ruffled Ribbon. This was then adhered to the card front.

The birthday greeting is from the Sweet as a Peach Stamp Set. I used the Triple Banner Punch to create the banner end.

I fussy cut several of the ‘circles’ and popped them up using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Half inch strips of the DSP were added to the card insert and envelope.

Surprisingly I didn’t add any embellishments to this card.

Who would you send this card to? If you live in Australia, let me know and I will gift this card to you.

Until tomorrow, happy stamping.

GORGEOUS LEAVES

Hello and welcome to my Monday August 16 post! Thanks for popping by.

All my posts for this week were scheduled late last week because today I am having my second knee replacement. If all goes according to plan, I will be home Thursday and be ready to make more projects to share with you.

For this post, I am featuring the Gorgeous Leaves Bundle.

GORGEOUS LEAVES BUNDLE

When I saw this stamp set and the coordinating dies I knew that I would be ordering it.

I started by choosing my colour palette – it was going to be full on Autumn (Fall). Basic Black, Brushed Metallic Foil, Cajun Craze, Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie, Soft Suede and Very Vanilla were gathered together for this project.

The card base, foil and black layer were prepared. Then I used three of the ‘background’ images to stamp and cut the three panels that were added next.

The next step was to stamp and cut the leaves. They were then layered to create the leaf bouquet. I adhered them to the card front.

The greeting is from the Ornate Thanks Stamp Set. I stamped the leaf image on to the card insert and envelope. The finishing touch was to add some Brushed Metallic Adhesive-Backed Dots.

When Rob and I travel we love it when we see the changing leaves of Autumn. There have been some spectacular places we have seen. Unfortunately, where we live in Queensland , there are very few trees that have changing leaves.

What is your favourite time of the year?

Until tomorrow, happy stamping.

THE STARS ARE BRIGHTLY SHINING

Hello! Thank you for popping by – I always appreciate those of you who take the time to visit.

Today I have another Christmas card to share.

This time I want to feature the Stars are Shining Bundle.

STARS ARE SHINING BUNDLE (ENGLISH)

I have decided to use Basic Black, Basic White, Cherry Cobbler and Silver for this card.

I used the Starlit Punch to create a mask for stamping the stars image. The Stamparatus was ideal for this project. I placed a piece of Silver Foil on the Stampartus and then placed the mask so that I could position the stamp. The plate picked up the stamp and I removed the mask. Because I was using Jet Black StazOn ink, I used lengths of Post-It tape, as well as the magnets, to make sure that the foil did not move each time I lifted the stamping plate.

I wrapped and secured two lengths of Metallic Mesh Ribbon to a piece of Basic Black card stock.

The mask was then attached to the stamped silver layer using Black Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The silver mesh layer was attached to the card front, using Black Stampin’ Dimensionals, before the stars layer was then adhered in place. The Christmas greeting was stamped, cut and attached to the card front. I stamped and punch some extra stars to add to the card.

Two large punched stars were used for the card insert and envelope. And, finally, a few Silver Metallic Pearls gave the last little bit of bling to finish the card.

I always enjoy it when I have lots of new products from new catalogues. It means that I can experiment and create new projects. It means that I can combine new with ‘old’ products. It means lots of projects to share, with you, here.

What do you like most about new catalogues?

Until next time, happy stamping.
