THE CARD YOU DON’T REALLY WANT TO NEED

Hello to each of you who pop by, either regularly or for the first time. I amvery grateful to each of you and I hope that my project inspires you.

Today I am featuring one of the FREE Sale-a-bration stamp sets, Delicate Dahlias. I used the Distinktive stamp for the feature image of this card. The two smaller floral images were used to stamp the two background layers of the card, one for each layer.

This card has a very simple layout which is great for inexperienced card makers. The Blackberry Bliss card base was stamped with one of smaller flower images using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink. The slightly smaller Blackberry Bliss layer was stamped with the other small floral image in black as well. The black is quite subtle against this rich purple colour.

The smaller layer had Black Stampin’ Dimensionals added to pop it up, adding dimension to the card.

I stamped the main Dahlia image using Blackberry Bliss on Basic White card. I used the same colour combination for the sentiment which is also from the Delicate Dahlias Stamp Set. Both of these Basic White pieces were trimmed down to ‘fit’ the space of the card front.

The sentiment was positioned over a strip of Basic Black card.

One of the smaller floral images was stamped on the card insert and envelope. A few Matte Black Dots were then added to the front of the card.

I know that this is THE CARD YOU DON’T REALLY WANT TO NEED and yet it is always timely to have at least one on hand because we never know what life will throw our way.

I prefer to have some sympathy cards on hand because I don’t want to need to make one when I hear such news. Are you like me? Do you have some on hand? Or, do you make them as you need them?

I will try to share a more uplifting project tomorrow.

Until then, happy stamping.

SHADED SUMMER

Hello again! I am so pleased that you have popped by today.

Today’s post features a stamp set from the 2021 – 2022 Annual Catalogue and a FREE coordinating die set from the 2021 August – September Sale-a-bration Brochure.

Say hello to the Shaded Summer Stamp Set and the Summer Shadows Dies.

For this project I decided to use subtle colours – Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam, as well as Basic White.

After I prepared the card base, I used white Stampin’ Emboss Powder to heat emboss the floral images on a smaller panel of Soft Sea Foam cardstock. Then I heat embossed the same images several times on to a piece of Petal Pink card. Then I fussy cut several of the flowers so that they could be adhered over the white flowers. I used Multi Purpose Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to do this.

The birthday greeting is from the Shaded Summer Stamp Set and it was also heat embossed in white. It was cut using this die from the Seasonal Labels Dies.

I took a length of Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon into two slender widths before swirling and adhering them behind the greeting layer. Stampin’ Dimensionals were popped behind this label and then positioned on the front of the card.

The floral images were stamped on the card insert and envelope. Then I added Clear Wink of Stella to the Petal Pink flowers to add a little glimmer to the card.

Although I don’t put every product that I use in this last photo, in my posts, I do get to feature some of the key ones. And, of course, at the end of each post I present a graphic of almost everything I use.

Is there someone special you would send this birthday card to? I think I will keep this card for one of my nieces’ birthdays.

Util tomorrow, happy stamping.

HEXAGONS!

Hello to each of you who have popped by to see today’s project. Thank you so much for visiting – I appreciate you taking the time.

Today I took inspiration from Melody Hyde, a demonstrator who also leads the Concept Art Team at Stampin’ Up!®. She is incredibly talented and creative, and “knows her stuff”.

She shared a quick vidoe showing how to use the Tailored Tag Punch to punch hexagonal shapes. I have a link to that video for you to watch for yourself:

https://fb.watch/7kwNBT8Cx9/

I prepared my punch with the same markings. Then I chose my Designer Series PAper and colours – Sweet Symmetry 12″x 12″ DSP and Night of Navy meets Basic White.

I cut a 1-1/2″ wide strip of paper from the DSP and then punched several hexagons. I also punched a few Basic White shapes. These three were then stamped using one of the floral images from the In Symmetry Stamp Set using the Night of Navy Classic Stampin’ Pad.

The DSP hexagons were the first to be adhered in place. The Basic White shapes were then added using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The greeting is also from the In Symmetry Stamp Set. After it was trimmed down to this size I adhered it directly to the card front.

A bow was made using lengths of White 1/4″ Crinkled Seam Binding and White Baker’s Twine from the Essentials Pack.

The same floral image was stamped on the card insert and envelope. The last step was to add some Night of Nave Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels to the card, just for that bit of bling.

I am so excited by how well this card has turned out! What do you think?

I should apologise for the really short posts that I have for you this week. They were made and scheduled last week because I am out of action for a week – it has been a bit of a ‘rush job’.

Until tomorrow, happy stamping.
