SUMMER APPROACHES

Hello and thank you for popping by.

It is still meant to be be Winter here in Australia but, where I live, it already feels more like Spring. If it feels like Spring then Summer is just around the corner.

For today’s project I am featuring the Shaded Summer Stamp Set and FREE coordinating Summer Shadows Dies. The dies can be found in the August – September Sale-a-bration Brochure.

I knew that I wanted to use the large banner style die from the Stocking Dies. I cut three pieces of Fresh Freesia cardstock. Two of the them were trimmed back and then stamped. All three were given added texture from the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. This embossing folder is one of my all time favourites – the texture it leaves is stunning.

A layer of Basic White cardstock was also embossed before being adhered to the front of the card. The banner pieces were added to the card front – two were glued and the centre was popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Several flowers were cut and attached to the card front. A single Soft Succulent leaf was cut and added.

The greeting was stamped and fussy cut before being added to the card. The inside of the card and envelope were stamped also. And, the final touch was to pop a few 2021 – 2023 In Colour Jewels to the front of the card.

The Summer Shadows Dies are going to be so lovely to make more projects with. The flowers are so pretty and layer beautifully.

Who would you say thank you to with this card?

Until next time, happy stamping.

GLOBAL DESIGN CHALLENGE #GDP305

Hello! Thank you for popping by to see my latest project share.

This time last week I didn’t think that I would up to making a card for this challenge. I went into hospital on Monday for a knee replacement and came home on Thursday. Fortunately, I felt well enough this morning to make a card.

This week’s challenge is a colour challenge. The combination is Pale Papaya, Balmy Blue and Pear Pizzazz. How fun is this color combination?! There are so many ways to be creative with Stampin’ Up! challenge.

If you pop over to Global Design Project website you will be able to see the gorgeous projects the design team made to insire us – just click on the colour combination image above to be taken to the right place!

For this card I was inspired by Patty Bennetts, from Patty Stamps, to use my Blending Brushes to colour a strip of card stock.

To achieve the coloured strip, I laid down Post-It Cover-up Tape using the Grid Paper to ensure I had a parallel space to colour. I used three Blending Brushes and started with Pale Papaya at the top and moving down the card front blended in Pear Pizzazz and then Balmy Blue. The ink was given some time to dry before the Post-It strips were removed.

Then I added colour, from the coordinating Stampin’ Write Markers™, directly onto the selected floral Shaded Summer Stamps. These were then cut using the FREE Sale-a-bration Summer Shadows Dies. To ensure I had strong colour coverage I used my Stamparatus so that I could apply more colour as needed.

I added a swoosh of Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon to the card front before placing the die cut flower stems over the colour blended strip. Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to layer up these stems. I stamped and fussy cut additional flowers to pop up over some of the flowers to ensure the card front had height and dimension. I also gave each of the flowers a swipe of Clear Wink of Stella.

The birthday greeting is from the Shaded Summer Stamp Set and was cut using one of the new Seasonal Labels Dies. The stem of leaves was stamped inside the card and onto the envelope.

And, of course, the final step was to add some 2021 – 2023 In Colour Jewels.

I enjoy including a photograph of many of the products I have used to make the card. There are many items that I do not include, yet – cardstock, Designer Series Paper, adhesives. envelopes and paper cutting and some other equipment.

Who would you send this birthday card to?

Until next time, happy stamping.

SHADED SUMMER

Hello again! I am so pleased that you have popped by today.

Today’s post features a stamp set from the 2021 – 2022 Annual Catalogue and a FREE coordinating die set from the 2021 August – September Sale-a-bration Brochure.

Say hello to the Shaded Summer Stamp Set and the Summer Shadows Dies.

For this project I decided to use subtle colours – Petal Pink and Soft Sea Foam, as well as Basic White.

After I prepared the card base, I used white Stampin’ Emboss Powder to heat emboss the floral images on a smaller panel of Soft Sea Foam cardstock. Then I heat embossed the same images several times on to a piece of Petal Pink card. Then I fussy cut several of the flowers so that they could be adhered over the white flowers. I used Multi Purpose Glue and Stampin’ Dimensionals to do this.

The birthday greeting is from the Shaded Summer Stamp Set and it was also heat embossed in white. It was cut using this die from the Seasonal Labels Dies.

I took a length of Petal Pink Organdy Striped Ribbon into two slender widths before swirling and adhering them behind the greeting layer. Stampin’ Dimensionals were popped behind this label and then positioned on the front of the card.

The floral images were stamped on the card insert and envelope. Then I added Clear Wink of Stella to the Petal Pink flowers to add a little glimmer to the card.

Although I don’t put every product that I use in this last photo, in my posts, I do get to feature some of the key ones. And, of course, at the end of each post I present a graphic of almost everything I use.

Is there someone special you would send this birthday card to? I think I will keep this card for one of my nieces’ birthdays.

Util tomorrow, happy stamping.
