I’M BACK IN MY CRAFTING ROOM!

Hello and thank you, so much, for popping by. It has been almost two weeks since my knee replacement surgery and I am so happy with my progress – and, that I have started crafting again.

It is Sunday and it is time for a Global Desgin Project challenge. This week is a CASE challenge – the card, below, was designed by Artisan and New Zealander, Susan Wong.

Our brief for a CASE challenge that we can take what we like from the design and make it our own. It might be the stamp set – the colors, the layout, the theme, the images – whatever we like that has inspired us to make a card of our own. For me, I decided to CASE the general layout.

For this project, I decided that the Friends Are Like Seashells Bundle would be perfect.

I have also been working on a card for a colour challenge. I decided to use the same colour pallette for this project.

May be an image of 1 person and text that says '#99 COLOUR NSPIRATION CHALLENGES Mint Macaron Just JusJade Jade Smoky Slate Soft Suede'

I used Shimmery White cardstock so that I could do some messy water colouring. I used the same cardstock and one of my Blending Brushes to colour the 4-5/8″x 3″ panel with Soft Suede to achieve this mottled effect. I spent some time running my fingernails along the edges of the cardstock to give it a frayed and vintage look. The edges were then coloured using the Blending Brush. The sand particles were then stamped using first and second generation stamping. Finally, I wrapped some Very Vanilla twine, from the new Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack, and tied a bow.

The shell, starfish and seaweed images were stamped using StazOn Jet Black ink for the water colouring. When dry, each image was die cut or fussy cut and thenpopped up onto the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I like the smaller sentiment I chose for this card because the stamped and coloured images are definitely the focal points.

These are many products used to create this project – and, I am so pleased how well they work together.

What do you think? What was the last project you CASEd?

SHE SELLS SEASHELLS BY THE SEASHORE

Hello to each of you who I hope I collected as my stamping friends – thanks for popping by again.

When I first saw the SAND & SEA SUITE, my mind went straight to a tongue twister from my childhood.

This suite is amazing.

SAND & SEA SUITE COLLECTION (ENGLISH)

I used one of the dies from the SEASIDE SEASHELLS DIES and one of the sheets of SAND & SEA DSP to cut the larger multiple shells shape. Then, I used the SEASHELLS 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER to emboss the paper.

The paper I chose gave the shells a lovely ombre transition from Seaside Spray to Flirty Flamingo, with some splashes of Sahara Sand.

When the shells are popped up, using Stampin’ Dimensionals, onto a panel of PEARLESCENT SPECIALTY PAPER they look stunning.

I stamped the sentiment, from the FRIENDS ARE LIKE SEASHELLS STAMP SET, in Seaside Spray and cut it using one of the dies from the STITCHED SO SWEETLY DIES.

I thought about adding some CLEAR WINK OF STELLA but decided not to. Instead, I added some of the OPAL ROUNDS to achieve extra shimmer.

I have a friend who has moved to Brisbane for a new job and I look forward to sending this card to her.

Who would you send this card to?

Thanks, again, for popping by … happy stamping.
