Today I am showcasing some cards I made on one of my recent Facebook Live presentations. You can find it on my mmmstampintime Facebook page. It is in two parts because I had some streaming issues (it was Wednesday January 20).

I used the CORNER BOUQUET STAMP SET. As I was watching Emma Goddard’s Live, a few days earlier, I began to formulate this card in my mind. I made the first two cards as my samples before my Live presentations.

Until I can find the right term for the technique I used, I’ll simply call it a switching technique. I placed a 3-1/2″x 5″ piece of Basic White card stock onto my STAMPARATUS and positioned the floral stamp in the corner.

For the first panel I stamped the image using Garden Green.

Then I replaced it with a second piece of card stock, in exactly the same position. This time I coloured directly onto the stamp using my Stampin’ Write Markers™ – Garden Green, Mango Melody and Real Red. I applied each colour in turn and was able to reapply the ink if it needed more colour.

The next step was to cut the card stock using the third largest, of the eight, STITCHED RECTANGLE DIE. For the second piece of card stock I used the outer remnant from the first piece of card stock to ensure the second cut was in the same position.

The next step was to position the third smallest, of the eight, to cut the inner rectangle. To ensure the second inner rectagle is in the precise position I overlaid the outer frame from the first outer frame. Here comes the switching. My first card has the coloured frame adhered to a piece of Garden Green card and then popped the all Garden Green stamped image inside the frame, lifted with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

And, this is the second card.

I coloured and stamped the flowers so that I could fussy cut them before lifting them with small pieces of dimensionals.

For the sentiments, I was able to use some of the leftover MANY MESSAGES greetings that I had from an earlier project. The MANY MESSAGES BUNDLE is a fantastic way to have prestamped and die cut greetings on hand.

I stamped the small, individual floral image inside the card three times using Real Red. When I am restocked with Basic White C6 envelopes, I will do the same on the front of them.

For my Live I chose a different colour palette – Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green and Mango Melody.

The sentiment comes from the SIMPLY SUCCULENTS STAMP SET and is cut using one of the POTTED SUCCULENTS DIES.

Hello to each of you who may like butterflies and, possibly, the project I am sharing today. Thanks for fluttering by.

This is the first project I have made using the FLOATING & FLUTTERING BUNDLE.

In earlyJanuary 2019, I made a floating frame card – inspired by a post from Jennifer McGuire, using Glad Press N Seal.

The FLOATING & FLUTTERING STAMP SET & FLUTTERING DIES now makes this technique so much quicker and easier.

I stamped, die cut and applied Stampin’ Dimensionals to elevate the butterflies above the Old Olive background panel.

Each of the butterfly sections have been coloured using Stampin’ Blends.

Then, I used the frame from the dies to cut out the centre of the butterfly layer (to be used for another project).

I used the same die to cut a piece of Highland Heather card stock in preparation to fill the space left behind. I used a recently retired embossing folder to add some texture to this card stock piece.

There are lots of colours and lots of elements involved in this card. In the end, I am very happy with the final product.

I like my little embossed and die cut PEARLESCENT DEISGNER PAPER butterfly.

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, the theme for today’s Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop is perfect – WITH LOVE.

I recently started a project on a Facebook Live showing how to use the new GILDED LEAFING and HEAT & STICK POWDER. I finished the card later that day and scheduled it for this hop.

I teamed some of the TRUE LOVE DESIGNER SERIES PAPER with some IN GOOD TASTE DSP.

Surprisingly, I continue to do more fussy cutting. I cut out three of the larger flowers from a sheet of the DSP and coloured them using my Night of Naving Blends.

I have had a couple of Versamark pens for several years, and although you can’t get them from Stampin’ Up!® at the moment, mine still work and I used the fine tip end to add it to selected areas of the flowers. Then I sprinkled some Heat & Stick Powder to them. The Heat Tool melts the powder and then you simply press the Gilded Leafing onto to those areas. Then I used a brush to remove the excess leafing.

I used the Versamark ink pad to stamp Love and Always, from the FOREVER AND ALWAYS STAMP SET, onto some Night of Navy card stock. After the gilded leafing was applied and brushed off, I cut them using the outline dies from the ALWAYS DIES.

The Gold ribbon, from the BOHO INDIGO PRODUCT MEDLEY, looks great with the gilding. I used my favourite bow tying technique – around the tines of a fork, to create this little bow before I wrapped the ribbon around the DSP panel.

By lightly sprinkling some of the powder across the flowers and heating them, I was able to get tiny flecks of gold on the coloured flowered.

The card insert has a sentiment from the ALWAYS IN MY HEART STAMP SET, which also in the LOVE YOU ALWAYS SUITE – I used the “Here’s to another year of happily ever after”. This is perfect for a golden anniversary card.

The “You” is from the Forever & Always Stamp Set and I cut it using the same die set that has the Love and Always.

A few hearts are also stamped on the insert and the envelope – you know me, no ‘naked’ inserts or envelopes.

TIPS FOR USING THE GILDED LEAFING:

• store it in a larger container – it will allow you to access the leaf more easily,
• use a pair of tweezers to pull out individual pieces and then you can easily place it over a section of the melted Heat & Emboss Powder,
• use something to press it down onto the ‘glue’ – I use a paint brush,
• once all the leafing is in place, use a brush to remove the excess leafing and pop the leftovers back into your container,
• if you have missed some areas, use a Versamark pen to fill the areas and repeat the steps,
• turn off your fan and work with the leafing away from windows or it will fly everywhere.
