#CI92 COLOUR INKSPIRATION CHALLENGE

Hello to each of you who enjoy a challenge. If you have been popping by regularly you will know that one of my 2021 goals is to participate in blog hops and challenges as a way to encourage me to move outside my comfort zone. If you’re new to my posts, thank you so much for checking in – I hope that you like what you see.

It is time for the #CI92 Challenge and this is not my typical colour palette – hence, the challenge. Although, I must say the tulips look gorgeous.

I decided to use the ENJOY THE MOMENT STAMP SET for this card and wanted to add texture and ‘aging’.

I stamped the Bottle Tree Pod stamp onto the Soft Suede card base, using the same colour inkpad.

Then I added colour directly onto the stamp using my Stampin’ Write Markers® and stamped them onto some Basic White card stock. Then I flicked Soft Suede splotches using both the dark and light Stampin’ Blends and then added texture using the OLD WORLD PAPER 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER.

Then I began giving the edges of the Basic White panels a very roughed up time. My Paper Snips and Pick Tool helped the deconstruction process.

The sentiment I chose is lovely. Friendship isn’t complicated – it is found in the simple things. The ‘simple things’ gave me the opportunity to add Daffodil Delight to the card. Ticking boxes – all five colours used!

I teased open some of the BRAIDED LINEN TRIM to create the ‘bow’ elements that are popped under the sentiment panel. I used Mini Glue Dots to hold the fold in place and secure them under the sentiment.

I stamped the same pod image, using Daffodil Delight and Garden Green, onto the card insert. And, I will do the same for the envelope – when my order arrives. Can you believe that I ran out of C6 white envelopes about 12 cards ago. LOL (You will love this – for such a long time, I thought that this meant ‘lots of love’ and my daughters thought that I was ancient. They set me straight – laugh out live).

A pop of Clear Wink of Stella and I’m done.

Make sure you let me know what you think – this style is not what I typically create – moving into other territories.

Happy stamping.

CACTUS OVERLAY CARD

Hello to each of you. Thanks for popping by to see my latest post.

Today, I want to share another card that has a die cut cactus overlay. The POTTED SUCCULENTS DIES has a large overlay die that is an impact element for any project. I shared an earlier card that had the overlay with water colouring below.

This cards is really very uncomplicated.

The card base and overlay are both Basic Gray. A piece of the DSP from the FLOWERING CACTUS PRODUCT MEDLEY was used. The cactus was also cut from the DSP using a die from the same medley.

My go to STITCHED RECTANGLE DIES was used to cut the sentiment.

As I said, this is an uncomplicated card design. I think the white outline around the cactus helps to lift it up from the overlay – it seems much cleaner this way.

Who, in your life, makes the ordinary extraordinary? I’m thrilled that I have a few of them in my life.

Happy stamping.

A 3D FLOATING & FLUTTERING PROJECT

Hello to each of you who have returned to see my latest project – this time it is a 3D project. If you are new to my posts, I apprecitate that you took the time to check it out.

I die cut a centred panel from the Floating and Fluttering butterfly panel from the card I shared on Thursday.

Then, I had to think about how I could use it on a project. I’ve been looking at lots of different blogs and Facebook posts and Pinterest posts. AND, although I have seen these before, my attention was drawn to faceted bags/boxes.

This is how I melded these two concepts together.

The die cut section has one butterfly image that has some Cajun Craze in its colouring, so this is the card stock colour Iopted for. Then I stamped the butterfly bundle image several times across the card stock.

Once this faceted gift box was assembled, I punched the two holes across the top to insert and tie some braided linen trim.

The sentiment is from the MANY MESSAGES STAMP SET and coordinating DIE.

Finally, I added a few MATT BLACK DOTS to the colourful butterfly panel.

I can’t wait to make some more facted gift boxes.

Happy stamping.
