THIS WEEK’S GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT CHALLENGE #GDP438

I am a few days earlier than usual sharing my project for the latest challenge.

This week’s challenge is a SKETCH CHALLENGE.

Make sure that click on the image below to be directed to the GDP page to check out all the amazing projects the DEsign Team have created; as well as the ‘entries’ from card makers around the world.

i decided to use the soon to be released Country Birdhouse Bundle from the Country Woods Suite Collection.

The Country Woods Designer Series Paper is amazing – this is where I started. The Misty Moonlight weathered wood design and the multicoloured timber design were my choices.

I made a Misty Moonlight card base and added a panel of the weathered timber DSP.

Following the Sketch Challenge layout, I cut a piece of Basic Beige and embossed it with the Timber 3D Embossing Folder. I adhered it directly onto the card front.

Then I set about creating my birdhouse.

I stamped the birdhouse image onto the multicoloured timber paper and die cut it. At the same time I added the two small round dies to cut out the circles in the birdhouse.

Then I cut the roof and bottom piece in Pool Party and the barge board in Petal Pink.

I stamped the birthday greeting on the Pool Party lower panel.

After adhering these three die cut pieces to the front of the birdhouse I attached pieces of Foam Adhesive Sheets to the back.

I cut a panel of Petal Pink timber from the DSP and added it to the bottom of the card front.

A scrap of the Misty Moonlight DSP was adhered to a scrap of matching cardstock and then cut using the bow die. I trimmed the long strip from above the bow and then secured it to the card front.

Finally, I stamped the bird three times – once on a scrap of Basic Beige card and on the card insert and envelope. The first bird was die cut and then coloured using Pecan Pie and Petal Pink Stampin’ Blends and was painted with Clear Wink of Stella.

Tomorrow I have a Magnolia Mood 3D Project for you.

Until then, happy stamping.

WELL, IT’S WEDNESDAY & I HAVE SOMETHING WONDERFUL TO SHARE

After colouring the large magnolia images over the last two projects, I decided to create a magnolia wreath.

I started by adding a 9″ x 9″ piece of Pecan Pie behind the white frame mat.

Then I stamped, coloured and die cut 7 magnolias for this framed piece. I also did the same with the magnolia bud and leaves.

The large magnolias were then positioned on the Pecan Pie. Then I placed the buds and leaves. When I was happy with the shape of the wreath I secured the magnolias with dimensoinals. The buds and leaves were then glues into place.

I used a greeting from the Lifetime of Love Stamp Set and stamped it in Pecan Pie. It was then cut using one of the Nested Essentials Dies.

A length of Lemon Lolly Sheer Ribbon was folded in half and attached to the back of the greeting.

I added dimensionals to the back of the greeting and positioned it, as you can see.

Finally, I added some Lemon Lolly gems from the Tinsel Gems 4 Pack.

Tomorrow I have a 3D project to share with you.

Until then, happy stamping.

TODAY IS TUESDAY & IT’S TIME FOR SOME TIPS & TECHNIQUES

Today’s card combines dry embossing and colouring techniques.

Using the Delightful Doily Hrbrid Embossing Folder, I used a panel of White Vellum to create a beautifully textured layer to place over the Calypso Coral card base.

TIP: To adhere this embossed panel, to the card front, I used Mini Glue Dots. I positoined them behind some of the circular floral centres.

The large magnolia image was stamped, coloured and die cut. Before placing it on the card front, I painted it with Clear Wink of Stella.

I used my Dark Calypso Coral Stampin’ Blend to colour a length of Silver & White Sheer Ribbon.

TIP: You don’t always need to stamp an image outline in Tuxedo Black Memento ink. For this image I stamped the flower in Pecan Pie.

The ribbon was then wrapped under the flower and secured with Stampin’ Seal.

The birthday greeting, from the Sweetly Scripted Stamp Set, was stamped using Calypso Coral. Then the greeting was trimmed down and added to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

TIP: Use the same Stampin’ Blend to colour a number of Neutrals Adhesive-backed Sequins.

The coloured sequins were then added to the card.

The magnolia bud was stamped on the card insert and the back of the envelope.

Tomorrow I have a wonderful decor piece to share.

Until then, happy stamping.
