GLOBAL DESIGN CHALLENGE

Hello and welcome back. Thank you for popping by to see my latest project.

Many of you already know that one of my goals, in 2021, is to participate in blog hops and challenges. So, today I am joining in with another very popular challenge – the GLOBAL DESIGN CHALLENGE. It is a weekly challenge, so that will keep me on my toes.

Today is #GDP282 and it is a sketch challenge. Make sure you click on the GDP icon to go to see all the entries for #GDP282.

I decided to use the CIRCLE CELEBRATION STAMP SET for the first time and just a couple of colours – Pacific Point and Poppy Parade, teamed with Basic White.

The coordinating floral circles were a little tricky to align but worth the patience. Then I used the LAYERING CIRCLES DIES to cut five of the flowers. Three of them were adhered directly onto the Basic White strip and two were popped up with Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I used one of those stamps to create the blue on blue card front.

I dusted off my ORNATE LAYERS DIES to cut the red strip popping out from behind the Basic White strip.

THIS IS THE DIE I USED

The sentiment is from the YOU ARE AMAZING STAMP SET. I used the same die forthe sentiment as well. Ireally like the way I can reduce the size of the die by carefully interlocking the holes and/or stitched elements. It makes these types of dies so versatile.

A few RED RHINESTONE BASIC JEWELS finished the card ever so nicely.

I hope that you take the time to look at all the other #GDP282 participants.

Happy stamping.

VINE DESIGN GIFT BOX

Hello! Thank you for popping by to see today’s 3D project.

I wanted to make a gift box that could feature the FLOWERING VINE DIES oval and rectangular panels. The box needed to be rectangular in shape and I wanted it to be a flat fold box, for easy storage.

I must admit that Seaside Spray reminds me of Wedgewood Jasper Ware. Imagine popping a piece of Wedgewood into this gift box.

This could also be used for Mother’s Day with a different sentiment.

The box is 4-1/2″ long, 3-1/2″ deep and 2″ high.

The Seaside Spray Metallic Ribbon is secured to the base of the box but there is enough ribbon to allow the box to be stored flat.

I used Creately to share the gift box template with you.

What would you pop inside the gift box?

Happy stamping.

FINDING THE WORDS

Hello! Thank you for popping by. I appreciate you taking the time to see what I have been making. If you are a returning ‘viewer’, awesome! If you are new, I hope you like what you see and will keep returning each day (my goal this year has been to post every day – I have only missed one I believe!)

This card was made ‘on the spot’ during a recent Facebook Live. I had premade a gift box and was in the process of cutting the card stock when I realised that I had not written the measurements down correctly – aghhhhhhhhh – it only ever happens when you are live. So, I created this card on the spot.

I had already cut one of the oval vine dies in Basic White and sheets of Soft Sea Foam A4 card close by. This is the result.

My gift box, which I will share tomorrow, had the oval vine die cut adhered onto an oval piece of card. The flowers and leaves overhand a little and I like the way this looks.

I popped these oval layers up onto Stampin’ Dimensionals and positioned it onto the embossed mat layer.

Combining the calming effect of the Soft Sea Foam card with the crisp Basic White vine die cut achieves the perfect canvas to add this sentiment. It can be hard to find the words for someone else’s grief, but the use of just two can say it all.

I will add this card to my stash and hope that it is a long time before I need to use it.

Happy stamping.
