IT IS SIMPLY SATURDAY #simplestamping TIME

After two weeks of the Waves of the Ocean Collection projects, it is time to introduce other new products in my next seven days of posts.

This week I am using the All Together Collection.

I have two super quick and easy cards to share with you today.

I did say super quick and easy! One notecard and envelope, one Crumb Cake ink pad and an acrylic block.

For the second card, I used one of the Here For You Dies to cut out the set of hands. I confess that I really didn’t want to fussy cut them – although is what a casual stamper would do.

I used a cutting knife to create a small slit in the cardstock so that I could thread some Linen Thread to tie the bow.

Making simple cards is important for beginners as they develop their skills and confidence. For more experienced stampers, these card designs will seem boring.

Tomorrow I will have some more interesting designs to share.

Until then, happy stamping.

FUN FOLD FRIDAY – A SHAKER CARD TO SHARE

Today’s type of card is always fun to make. Who doesn’t like a shaker card?

For this card I started by taking a piece of the alcohol ink coloured vellum and added it to the Night of Navy card base.

Then I used one of the Stitiched Rectangle Dies to create the frame for the shaker card. A piece of Window Sheet was adhered to the frame.

I added lengths of Foam Adhesive Strips around the underside edges of the frame.

One of the die cut Basic White pelicans was adhered on the vellum. Then I pooled a small quantity of the gold and white Sequins for Everything in the centre of the card front.

I pulled the tape from the back of the foam strips and was then attached to the front of the card.

To finish the card, I added two more pelicans to the card – one stamped and both die cut. The greeting was stamped on a thin strip of Basic White cardstock.

I cut three seagulls from a piece of Mother of Pearl 12″x 12″ Specialty Paper that had Adhesive Sheet atteched on the back. This made it easy to add them to the Window Sheet.

After two weeks, featuring the Waves of the Ocean Collection, it is time to move on to another collection.

Until we are all together again, happy stamping.

3D THURSDAY – HOW TO MAKE A SIMPLE GUSSETED GIFT BAG

For today’s 3D project, I used some of the Waves of the Ocean 12″x 12″ Designer Sereis Paper to make to make two gusseted gift bags.

This bag measures 5″x 5″x 3/4″. I used one of the Basic Borders Dies to achieve the triangular top of the bag.

The birthday greeting is from the Waves of Inspiration Stamp Set. It was stamped using Granny Apple Green ink before being cut using one of the Tailor Made Tags Dies.

I cut a second, larger tag to place under the greeting.

I punched a hole in centre top of the bag and threaded some Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Tape through it. Then I threaded the ribbon through the greeting tags and tied a bow.

For the second gift bag I used a different piece of the Designer Series Paper. This bag measures 3-3/4″x 7″x 2″.

The paper, measurements and top edges all differ but the style is the same.

For this bag, I added an extra tag cut from the same DSP and placed it between the two cardstock tags.

These bags can be filled with all manner of goodies.

Tomorrow is Fun Fold Friday and I have a shaker card to share.

Until then, happy stamping.
