TIME FOR ANOTHER GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT CHALLENGE

This week’s #GDP412 is a CASE challenge. The source of inspiration for this challenge is a card created by WIlma de Korte, one of the talented GDP team members from the Netherlands.

HINT – CASE = Copy And Selectively Edi

Each time there is a CASE challenge we are reminded that we can take what we like from the design and make it our own. It might be the stamp set – the colors, the layout, the theme, the images – whatever we like that has inspired us to make a card of our own.

Here is the project this week that we can CASE this week:

I decided to turn the layout around to create a portrait tent card and chose a Christmas suite collection for my CASE submission.

I featured the Joy of Christmas Suite Collection for this CASE project.

The Pecan Pie cardbase was where I started. Then I cut two pieces of Joy of Christmas Designer Series Paper for the angled layers under the Basic White top layer.

The Basic White layer had holly leaves stamped in Shaded Spruce. I adhered it to the card front, also at an angle.

I stamped some holly leaves, in Shaded Spruce, on to Shaded Spruce cardstock. Then I die cut them. I also die cut two other leaf shapes, several times, in Vellum.

The leaves were then layered and adhered together. I added Stampin’ Dimensionals to the back of the layered leaves and placed them on the card front.

The seasonal greeting was stamped with Versamark before I sprinkled Gold Embossing Powder across it. After the powder was heat set I cut the greeting and added it to the card front.I tied a bow using the gold trim from the Simply Elegant Trim duo and placed it on the leaf bundle.

I stamped some holly leaves on the card insert and back of the envelope.

Finally, I added some embellishments from the Loose Holly Gems & Sequins pack.

In the coming days I have lots of projects using the Merry, Bold & Bright Suite Collection to share with you.

Until then, happy stamping.

Colour INKspiration #151 – Just My Type

Welcome back for another Colour INKspiration challenge. This inspiration picture which has inspired our colour palette was chosen by Crew Member, Cathy Pinchbeck.

As well as the chosen colour combination for #CI150, Petal Pink, Balmy Blue, Boho Blue and Pecan Pie, you may also add Basic White, Very Vanilla, Crumb Cake, Basic Black, and metallics to your project. We also allow Ivory, Bronze and Natural Tones in Stampin’ Blends. If you don’t have the colours in our palette, feel free to use the closest Stampin’ Up! substitute.

To get your creative ideas flowing make sure you check out the Crew’s Projects in the CI#151 album.

My contribution features the Just My Type Stamp Set and the 2023-2025 In Colour Treat Bags.

I decided to use the Copper Clay paper treat bag from the 2023-2025 In Colour Treat Bags because it is so close in colour to the Peca Pie cardbase I have chosen.

The paper bag was trimmed down to adhered the front of the cardbase.

Using the Just My Type Stamp Set, I stamped three typewriters in Balmy Blue, Boho Blue and Copper Clay. Then they were each fussy cut.

I took a small piece of Basic White cardstock and stamped the paper image in Petal Pink, ensuring the outside lines of the paper were stamped through the feed rollers. Then I fussy cut the typewriter paper and placed it behind the Pecan Pie typewrited.

Stampin’ Dimensionals were used to attach the Balmy and Boho Blue typewriters to the card front. Double Dimensionals were used to really pop the Copper Clay typewriter up off the card.

I stamped the small and super cute envelope several times and fussy cut them to add to the card front.

On the card insert and back of the envelope I masked and stamped three envelopes.

Finally, I attached some Neutrals Adhesive-Backed Sequins to add that blingy element to the card.

Today is the 4th of July but this post is scheduled for the 23rd of August. This is the first time in such along, long time that I am scheduling specific posts so far in advance. Woohoo!

Now, I just need to go back and create some more projects to post in early July – I hope you will like them.

Until them, happy stamping.

GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #GDP410 SKETCH CHALLENGE

This week’s Global Design Prject Challenge is a sketch challenge. I love these because there are so many ways they can be interpreted.

If you click on the image above, you will go to the GDP page for this challenge. You will find all the amazing projects created by the design team

For my entry I chose to feature the Warmest Heart Bundle and one of the Cheery Patterns Embossing Folders.

After cutting and folding the Basic White cardbase I added a piece of DSP from the Merry Bold & Bright Designer Series Paper.

I embossed a piece of Basic White card stock and cut it into four pieces. Each piece was adhered to the card front, at slight angles to allow the colours from the DSP to peek through.

I stamped the thermos using Blueberry Bushel and Shaded Spruce before cutting it using the Warmest Heart Dies. At the same time, I also cut two thermoses and two cups.

The sentiment was stamped in Granny Apple Green. I used dimensionals to position the stamped strip over one of the embossed panels.

The thermos was stamped inside the card and on the envelope. Finally, I added some Blueberry Bushels gems from the Tinsel Gems 4 Pack.
