FRESHLY BREWED PROJECTS BLOG HOP – SHARE SUNSHINE

Image may contain: text

If you live in Queensland, you know that the Big Pineapple is an iconic tourist attraction and pineapple plantation on the Sunshine Coast.

So for this project I decided that I would crack out the TROPICAL OASIS SUITE, especially the pineapple dies in the IN THE TROPICS DIES.

This is a great time to #sharesunshine with your friends and family … and smile at the people you pass as you walk or those who serve you at the supermarket or chemist or service station.

My project is a 3D gift box holding a small cellophane bag of fruit salad confectionery. I did try find a bag of Allen’s Pineapple, which would have been perfect, but there were none to found in Woolworths.

I used the FLUID 100 WATER COLOUR PAPER to colour the paper I used for the base and leaves of the pineapple.

This little box of tropical sweetness, with its simple sentiment, will be great to #sharesunshine with someone who has been thoughtful.

How many people are on your list to #sharesunshine with?

HAPPY HIBISCUS

The days are still warm and the nights are getting a little cooler. I’m lucky enough to look outside our apartment and see blue sky, the trees and river. The gardens in our unit complex has, among other beautiful trees, plants and flowers; hibiscus.

The TROPICAL OASIS SUITE is rich with floral and leaf images in resplendent tropical colours.

For this project, I did some borderless water colouring on some FLUID 100 WATER COLOUR PAPER. I used the Staz On Saddle Brown inkpad, stamped off onto my grid sheet and then coloured the hibiscus and leaves, using an aqua painter and inks.

I love the way embossing folders always add interesting texture to cards and the COASTAL WEAVE 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER is one of my favourites.

I am going to miss the 2018 – 2020 In Colours! The GRAPEFRUIT GROVE worked perfectly on the hibiscus. Actually, I am going to miss ALL these colours!

Classic Stampin' Pad Assortment In Color 2018-2020 by Stampin' Up!

STAND UP CARD

I watched a Ronda Wade Facebook live two days ago and was inspired to make a card using this card fold technique.

I thought the golfer from the CLUBHOUSE STAMP SET would be perfect for the centre panel of the stand up card.

I used one of the edge dies from the ORNATE LAYERS DIES to add the Night of Navy and Poppy Parade edges at the base of the card.

With my husband’s birthday looming, I can use this card and give him the golf ball gift box – the one I posted on March 3rd.

This card didn’t stand as well as I had hoped, so I trimmed some card from the back half of the card – it stands a little shorter than I would have liked. I have since made a few adjustments to the scoring and cutting measurements and now I have the ‘template’ spot on.

That’s the thing with crafting and creativity – there are no mistakes, just creative solutions!

What has been your best creative save?
