MOTHER’S DAY

Hello and welcome! I am so pleased that you have popped by today.

It is Wednesday afternoon and that means that it’s time for a Freshly Brewed Project blog hop. This week’s theme is Mother’s Day.

I decided to feature the Pansy Petals Suite for this project.

The Pansy Petals 12″x 12″ Designer Series Paper uses all the new 2021 – 2023 In Colours – Polished Pink, Fresh Freesia, Pale Papaya, Soft Succulent and Evening Evergreen. This meant that I could use the 2021 – 2023 In Colour Jewels as well! And, the ribbon.

The Pansy Dies petals cut and emboss so once the flowers are assembled they have a lovely texture. After I had cut the petals, I used a Blending Brush to add colour to the flower centres.

I made a slimline card so that I could accommodate three pansies, as well as the Mother’s Day greeting.

The Pansy Patch Stamp Set has two pansy, two step stamps. I stamped the larger one inside the card.

With Mother’s Day just a few days away, are you ready? Do you have a card ready for your mother?

Make sure that you pop by the other Freshly Brewed Projects.

Happy stamping.

THINKING OF YOU

Hello and welcome! Thank you for popping by to see today’s new project.

For this project I also used the new Scalloped Contours Dies as well as the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper and Beauty of Friendship Stamp Set.

The Designer Series Paper I chose for this card is made up of several leaf and branch images in shades of Cinnamon Cider, Misty Moonlight and Olive Olive. I used the two scalloped dies (as shown) to cut the DSP and Misty Moonlight cardstock pieces.

The sentiment was stamping in Misty Moonlight onto the same coloured cardstock before it was cut. If you look carefully, you will see that this panel is thinner than the size of the die. I was able to cut it again and reduce the size by repositioning the die and ensuring the coordinating ‘lock points’ on the die align. Then I used Stampin’ Seal+ to wrap the Cinnamon Cider Ribbon behind the sentiment panel, before I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop it up, over the centre panel.

Three Cinnamon Cider In Colour Enamel Dots were added to each panels on the card front. The last step was to adhere thin strips of the DSP to the card insert and envelope.

‘Thinking of you’ is a sentiment perfect for so many life events. I think I would use this as a sympathy card. What occasion would you use this for?

Happy stamping.

STANDING ALONE

Hello and welcome! Thank you for dropping by for today’s latest project.

After yesterday’s Global Design Project blog hop, today I am back with another Beauty of the Earth Suite project.

In an earlier post, I mentioned how much I liked the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper and all of their designs. The blue and green papers used on the card front are perfect for the sky and rolling hills I created for this card. It was so easy to tear the DSP to create the undulating hills.

TIP: When you tear the paper by hand, to get a green edge without any white showing, you need to tear from the back not the front. If you tear from the front some white will be seen.

I started by laying down the sky and the wider hills. Then cut each of the elements for the tree. A tall, strong tree standing steadfastly alone – a symbol that illustrates the sentiment perfectly. I placed Adhesive Sheets onto the back of the DSP and cardstock, so that I could very easily secure the tree to the card front. I stamped the sentiment directly onto second layer of ‘hills’ before it was adhered to the bottom of the panel.

I secured lengths of Natural and Mossy Meadow Braided Linen Trim to the front panel and tied them in knot and trimmed them back. I added a mini glue dot behind the knot to secure it. As I often do, I added thin strips of DSP to the card insert and envelope – just to add the finishing touches (no bling this time).

Who inspires you? Who would you give this card to?

I am so pleased with this card. It is clean and simple and so easy.

Happy stamping.
