GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #290

Hello and welcome. Thank you for popping by. I’m sure that you will find today’s elegant.

It is Sunday and therefore a Global Design Project challenge. The second Sunday of the month, for a GDP challenge, is a sketch challenge.

For my project, I decided to use the new Simply Elegant Suite.

SIMPLY ELEGANT SUITE COLLECTION (ENGLISH)

I used one design from the Simply ElegantSpecialty Designer Series Paper and the Elegantly Said Stamp Set. The DSP was cut to use as a layer to be adhered to the Basic Black cardbase. I love this design which is made up of a collection of gold and black dots.

I started by staming the image onto Gold Foil Sheet using Jet Black StazOn. This was then cut using one of the Layering Circles Dies. The Basic Black and White Vellum layers were also cut using this die set. These were then layered, adhered and then trimmed before using a double layer of Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop them up onto the card front.

The sentiment was stamped, with Versamark and then heat embossed in gold, onto White Vellum. I used one of the dies from the Meadows Dies to cut the sentiment. A second piece was cut from Gold Foil Sheet and placed under the vellum layer. The left side was trimmed back and then this piece tucked under the circle layers.

Looking at these images, I can see that the sentiment layer has drifted and is not straight – a situation that has been corrected. It’s amazing how a tiny move can look so jarring.

If you know me, you will know that I usually finish my cards by adding a few embellishments and stamping an image on the card insert and envelope. This time I used the Matt Black Dots for the card front.

As the suite name says, this card is simply elegant. What do you think?

Happy stamping.

HEARTFELT

Hello and welcome. I am so pleased that you have taken some to pop by today.

I have another Beauty of the Earth project to share with you today.

The Beauty of the Earth 12″x 12″ Designer Series Paper is stunning and it does all the work for a card.

The sentiment is from another new product, the Quiet Meadow Stamp Set. I cut it using one of the Tasteful Labels Dies. Before arraching the sentiment to the front of the car I tied, trimmed and wrapped a length of Misty Moonlight Ribbon around the DSP layer. Then I added dimensionals to the back of the sentiment and popped it up, over the ribbon.

I coloured some Frosted Epoxy Droplets using the Dark Misty Moonlught Stampin’ Blend and placed across the card front. A thin strip of the DSP was adhered to the envelope and on the card insert.

This card would be ideal to give to someone who you have been thinking about because they are experiencing a challenge or sadness. Can you think of someone who could have needed a card like this recently?

Happy stamping.

WINTER WONDERLAND

Hello! Thank you for popping by to see my latest project. I appreciate everyone of you for finding time in your day to visit.

There is on edesign in the Beauty of the Earth Designer Series Paper that I could not resist making a Christmas card for. I know, that most of you know, that I live in Australia and it is incredibly rare to have snow anywhere here in December. This is the main reason that I don’t often use snow-themed products in my craftroom.

I love the ombre shades of the Misty Moonlight fur trees in the paper. I used the coordinating tree stamp to stamp some Whisper White Craft Stampin’ Pad over the trees. After this white ink dried, I added Clear Wink of Stella to the tree tops to add some bling.

The Christmas greeting is from the Perfectly Plaid Stamp set and, of course, was stamped in Misty Moonlight. A piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock was embossed with the new Bark 3D Embossing Folder. Both of these elements were then given a banner end, using the Banner Triple Punch. Each banner was positioned on the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The dark Misty Moonlight Blends pen was used to colour the Frosted Epoxy Droplets that add some bling to the card. The final touch involved adding thin strips of the DSP to the envelope and card insert.

I think that I will keep this snowy Christmas card to one of my lovely Stampin’ Up!® friends in North America.

Happy stamping, stampers.
