SKETCH CHALLENGE #GDP306

Hello everyone and welcome to today’s project share. I appreciate the time each of you take when you pop by.

As many of you know, I have been trying to be involved in as many blog hops and challenges as I can. They are a great way to try something new and they give me a concept for another project.

Today’s project is for the Global Design Project Sketch Challenge. If you pop over to the GDP website, you can see the cards made by their design team and the projects that are being entered into the challenge. If you click on the sketch challenge image below, the link will take you there.

For my project I wanted to use the new Cork Specialty Paper as well as the Garden Birdhouses Stamp Set. I hope you like the end result.

After preparing the Early Espresso card base, I cut the Cork frame using the Stitched Rectangle Dies. I also cut a White Vellum frame using the Scalloped Contours Dies. The vellum was then coloured using the Dark So Succulent Stampin’ Blend. These two frames were then glued together.

I stamped and coloured the birdhouse and bird images onto a die cut piece of Very Vanilla cardstock before placing it in the centre of the card front, using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The layered frame was then centred on the card front and popped up using more Dimensionals.

The branch, from the Birds & More Dies, was cut from a piece of Soft Succulent card that had Foam Adhesive Sheet attached. I positioned the branch to sweep across the top of the frame and the foam sheet added height to the card. The greeting was fussy cut and attached to the bottom of the frame.

I stamped the birdhouse on the card insert and envelope before adding a few 2021 – 2023 In Colour Jewels to the card.

It’s been a while since I’ve used dies from so many different sets for one project. I love the versatility of my Stampin’ Up!® products.

I think this card would be perfect, with a pillow gitft, for someone visiting your home.

Until next time, happy stamping.

MAKE MINE BLACK & WHITE

Hello to each of my crafting friends. Thank you for popping by today. I am so pleased that you take the time to visit my page.

It is a Wednesday and that means it’s time for a Freshly Brewed Project Blog Hop. This week’s theme is Black & White.

This is the perfect theme to use the Beautifully Penned 12″x 12″ Designer Series Paper that is one of the FREE products in the August and September Sale-a-bration Brochure. You can add this to a minimum $90 order (before postage) as your Sale-a-bration gift.

For this project I decided to make a version of a Triple Layer card.

I chose three different patterns from the DSP bundle to accentuate the black and white. The pieces of DSP were adhered to a Basic Black layer. Before they were layered up using Black Stampin’ Dimensionals, a length of Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon was wrapped around the spotted layer.

For this card I chose not to have all layers symmetrically arranged.

The greeting is from the Biggest Wish Stamp Set and was boldly stamped using Tuxedo Black Memento Ink onto Basic White cardstock. This piece also had Black Stampin’ Dimensionals used to lift it up from the card front.

A second length of the Glittered Organdy Ribbon was cut in half and slightly frayed. I added a length of Silver Simply Elegant Trim to the ribbon and tied a bow before securing it in place with a Mini Glue Dot.

Some additional DSP was added to the card insert and the envelope.

I wasn’t sure if I should add some Silver Metallic Pearls or not. After I finished taking these photos, I decided to see what they would look like. They looked good, so I left them in place.

Make sure that you pop across and see what the other Freshly Brewed Project team members have created.

What did you think of all of our Black & White projects? Which one will you make?

Until next time, happy stamping.

SUMMER APPROACHES

Hello and thank you for popping by.

It is still meant to be be Winter here in Australia but, where I live, it already feels more like Spring. If it feels like Spring then Summer is just around the corner.

For today’s project I am featuring the Shaded Summer Stamp Set and FREE coordinating Summer Shadows Dies. The dies can be found in the August – September Sale-a-bration Brochure.

I knew that I wanted to use the large banner style die from the Stocking Dies. I cut three pieces of Fresh Freesia cardstock. Two of the them were trimmed back and then stamped. All three were given added texture from the Timeworn Type 3D Embossing Folder. This embossing folder is one of my all time favourites – the texture it leaves is stunning.

A layer of Basic White cardstock was also embossed before being adhered to the front of the card. The banner pieces were added to the card front – two were glued and the centre was popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Several flowers were cut and attached to the card front. A single Soft Succulent leaf was cut and added.

The greeting was stamped and fussy cut before being added to the card. The inside of the card and envelope were stamped also. And, the final touch was to pop a few 2021 – 2023 In Colour Jewels to the front of the card.

The Summer Shadows Dies are going to be so lovely to make more projects with. The flowers are so pretty and layer beautifully.

Who would you say thank you to with this card?

Until next time, happy stamping.
