CUSTOM BIRTHDAY CARD

With two daughters, I often find myself being asked to make cards for their friends. This time it was one for Kat.

The design brief was simple – “just sparkly and florals”.

Thank goodness we have so many gorgeous floral designs across the different Designer Series Papers. For this card I used a design from the Harvest Meadow 12″x 12″ Designer Series Paper bundle. I love the simplicity of the Misty Moonlight and Basic White design.

I took a length the white Faux Linen Ribbon, from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack, and gently teased out a couple of threads and gathered up the ribbon to create this ruched effect. The ribbon was stuck down using Mini Glue Dots and each end was secured, on the underside of the DSP, with Tear & Tape. Then the DSP was adhered to the Misty Moonlight cardbase.

I think my favourite greeting stamp set at the moment is the Biggest Wish Stamp Set. It’s great to mix and match the two different size fonts. The birthday greeting was stamped and then cut using one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

I attached some Foam Adhesive Sheet to the back of some cardstock and cut Kat’s name out using the Playful Alphabet Dies.

I cut a long thin strip of the DSP and added it to the card insert and envelope.

Florals – tick! Sparkly – I added lots of Artistry Blooms Sequins to the card front – tick!

The card has quite a basic layout but just by choosing gorgeous paper, adding ruched ribbon and embellishments it can be transformed into a lovely card.

Until next time, happy stamping.

THIS IS KNOT GOOD – A GIRAFFE WITH A SORE THROAT

This is the third card I have made using the Back on Your Feet Stamp Set. While I thought the sloth and the turtle were totally cute, the giraffe with its knotted neck is the sad winner.

All three cards featured a Basic White card base. For this card, I added a Misty Moonlight layer that was embossed using the dots from the Checks & Dots Embossing Folder.

Thenk I stamped the giraffe and coloured it with the Stampin’ Blends I have listed below in the product list.

I think that “SIGH … OUCH!” is the perfect for the front of the card – it really says everything.

For the envelope, I stamped and coloured the giraffe from the knot up.

For the inside of the card, “This is knot good” was the best way to finish the message.

I coloured some of the silver circles from the Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials using Misty Moonlight Stampin’ Blends.

Now I am down to six stamp sets that I need to use before the end of the year.

Until next time, happy stamping.

HOPE YOU’RE BACK ON YOUR FEET SOON

Today’s card, using the Back on Your Feet Stamp Set, features the image of a turtle on its shell with its feet flailing about in the air.

I chose a Basic White card base and decided Mossy Meadow would be a great colour for this card.

The Mossy Meadow layer was given texture by using the checks folder from the Checks & Dots Embossing Folders.

The turtle was stamped using the Tuxedo Black Memento Ink and then coloured using Stampin’ Blends. I used one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies to cut out the image.

I also used the Dark Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blend to colour some white Baker’s Twine from the Essentials Pack. The twine was then wrapped around the Basic Whiye layer and tied in a knot.

The sentiment was stamped and cut using the same Stitched Rectangle Die but was cut a second time to make it a smaller size.

‘Ouch’ was stamped inside the card and on the envelope.

I used coordinating Stampin’ Blends to colour the some of the round silver Silver & Clear Epoxy Essentials. They were then added to the front of the card.

It has been fun using this stamp set because the images are perfect to bring a smile to the face of the person in need of cheering up.

I have a third card to share with you tomorrow and I hope that like it.

Until then, happy stamping.
