GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT

One of my goals, for the new Stampin’ Up!® year, is to participate regualrly in blog hops and design challenges.

This post is of a card I made for #GDP268. The design team is made up of 10 very talented demonstrators from around the world.

This week’s project is a CASE challenge – CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit.

I decided to focus on the card’s layout and make it my own.

This is a weekly challenge and finishes on Sunday. I hope that you pop over to the Global Design Project page to see what the Design Team has created, as well as the entries from those participating. You may even want to play along yourself.

So, here is the card I made.

I knew that I wanted to use the DANDELIONS 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER and the SWEET SILHOUETTE DIES for this card.

The Misty Moonlight and Silver were inspired by the twine from the FLOWERS FOR EVERY SEASON RIBBON COMBO PACK. THen I chose the Seaside Spray for a lighter shade of blue.

Rather than using one of my GOLD HOOP EMBELLISHMENTS, I wrapped the twine three times to create a circle.

The banner’s texture comes from the TASTEFUL TEXTILE 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER.

Creating the raised FOREVER sentiment is so easy when you use the ADHESIVE SHEETS.The silver dandelions were also layered and two extra flower heads were ‘scrunched’ and adhered into place.

The finIShing touch, on the card front, called for a few RHINESTONE BASIC JEWELS.

A silver Forever was adhered to the card insert and two more silver dandelions to the envelope front.

I’m looking forward to participating each week.

I hope you like my card!

THanks for popping by … happy stamping.

ADVENTURE & DISCOVERY

Ans I planned my card making for this week, I realised that the SILHOUTTE SCENES STAMP SET and coordinating SWEET SILHOUETTES DIES have been sitting on my shelves, unused, for far too long.

Of all the images, the three depicting children and their search are my favourites. For me, they represent the innocent search for new understanding. One child uses binoculars to seek something out … another child points toward the sky, space or the stars … and the last child, holds a plane mesmerised by the concept of flight.

I believe inquiry and learning are essential to lifelong learning and that is such an amazing ADVENTURE.

I used a piece of PLAYING WITH PATTERNS 6″x 6″ DSP as a mat layer on top of the card base. Before I adhered it down, I attached a length of Night of Navy Ribbon from the BOHO INDIGO PRODUCT MEDLEY.

The images of the three children were stamped and heat embossed using Versamark and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder, onto Night of Navy A4 Cardstock.

I used the PAINTED LABELS DIES to die cut each image.

The ADVENTURE sentiment comes from the SWEET SILHOUETTE DIES and was die cut twice – FOAM ADHESIVE SHEETS were attached to Night of Navy cardstock and one was adhered to the second, giving lots of height.

On the card insert, I stamped the Thoreau quote – ‘Go confidently in the direction of your dreams’.

On the envelope, I stamped the image of the child using binoculars.

I cannot been that I haven’t used this set before. I am beginning to plan other ways to use it.

Who would you give this card to?

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.
