TODAY IS A SATURDAY SPECIAL

Today I have two cards that a made a week or so ago for one of the GLobal Design Project challenges. The theme was flowers.

I used the Happy Hibiscus Bundle and Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder for both of them.

After preparing the card base and embossing the Basic White panel, I used the 1 7/8″ Circle Punch to cut out the space where I placed the greeting circle.

I embossed more white card to cut out two more circles, using the 1 3/4″ Circle Punch.

Then I used the Happy Hibiscus floral dies to cut all of these flowers.

I I secured the embossed circles to the corrugated panel and then attached all the flowers to it.

The dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends pen was used to splatter the card front and colour some of the Drusy Embellishments that I placed in some of the flowers.

The greeting was also stamped on inside the card and the back of the evelope.

The second card was created in a similar way to the first.

To create the flowers I applied multiple layers of the Extraordinary Flora Washi Tape to a piece of Basic White card. Then I die cut the flowers.

I used the dark Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blends pen to colour the Drusy Embellishments and leave flecks of colour across the corrugated panel.

Some Petal Pink strands from the Braided Trim were used to create the bow that was added to the card front.

I am so happy with how well these washi tape flowers turned out.

This is a weekend when I will be sharing another card tomorrow.

Until then, happy stamping and scrapbooking.

TUESDAY IS THE TIME FOR TIPS & TECHNIQUES WITH YOUR CARD MAKING EXPERIENCE

Today I have a card, featuring the soon-to-be-released Painterly Pears Suite Collection, and three great techniques to share with you.

The techniques are: DRY EMBOSSING, HEAT EMBOSSING and ALCOHOL INK COLOURING.

For this card I started with a Mossy Meadow landscape card base.

Then I DRY EMBOSSED a piece of Basic White card using the Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder.

For the five pears and leaves, I stamped the images using Versamark and the clear embossing powder from the Basics WOW! Embossing Powder.

After HEAT EMBOSSING the images, I die cut the shapes.

I coloured each of the pears and leaves using Stampin’ Blends – ALCOHOL INK COLOURING.

I used several Stampin’ Blends to colour each of the pears and leaves – Daffodil Delight, Mossy Meadow, Old Olive and Real Red.

A length of Mossy Meadow & Gold Trim was wrapped around the corrugated white panel. Then, using Mini Glue Dots, I positioned the pears under and above the ribbon. Each of the leaves were then added at the top of each pear.

I took another length of the ribbon and cut it into strips – using the ‘Tammy technique’. These strips were then tied into a bow and secured to the front of the card.

The greeting was stamped and trimmed, with a banner end, before I added it to the card front.

Finally I added some Flower Accents to the card.

The card insert and back of the envelope each had the double pear image stamped.

Tomorrow I have another card project to share with you.

Until then, happy stamping and scrapbooking.

Today’s card is another technique project. This time I am using dry embossing.

For this card I wanted to use up some of the left over card after I cut out the v-shaped zip panels. Each of these pieces interlock together perfectly.

I iinterlocked them and glued them to a background panel to secure them together.

For the interlocked panel and the Crushed Curry background panel, I used the Mini Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder to achieve this wonderful texture.

I wrapped some of the white baker’s twine around the corrugated multicoloured panel and tied it off in a bow.

For this card, I added the Crushed Curry embossed panel to the cardbase and trimmed it at the edges.

Then I added a Basic White panel that was stamped in Blueberry Bushel using the dotted image and had a narrow DSP panel added.

The multicoloured and embossed strip was added using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

The birthday greeting was stamped and trimmed to sit on the card, at an angle.

Both the card insert and back of the envelope had the dots stamped to decorate these areas.

Tomorrow I have a 3D project to share with you.

Until then, happy stamping and scrapbooking.
