COLOUR INKSPIRATION #102

Hello and welcome. Thanks for popping by to see my latest project.

Today, I’m sharing a project I made for the latest Colour INKspiration Challenge. This is such a great photo of the galahs.

May be an image of bird and text that says '#102 / SPIRATION CHALLENGES Polished Pink Smokey Slate Basic Gray'

The card I made features the Henna Hearts Stamp Set along with the 2021-2023 In Colour Shimmer Vellum.

I started by stamping the heart image using my Stamparatus to space and position them evenly. The panel was trimmed down to fit the card front. The Basic Gray paenl was embossed with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. Then I used the Painted Texure 3D Embossing Folder to add texture to the Smoky Slate cardstock and Polished Pink Shimmer Vellum. I used the Triple Banner Punch to notch one end of the strip of embossed Gray Granite. These panels were then layered onto the embossed Basic Gray layer.

After the layers were secured, I wrapped and secured some Smoky Slate Textured Ribbon around this piece. Then I adhered this piece to the cardbase. I attached the hearts panel using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The sentiments are from the Create with Friends Stamp Set. The ‘love’ was fussy cut and the other two words were trimmed. They were each placed on the card front with dimensionals to pop them up.

I’m getting a little better at fussy cutting around words! I like the way all these textured elements look together. Even the heart image appears to have texture.

I was surprised to realise that I haven’t used my Triple Banner Punch in quite a while! It is ever so easy to overlook some of my crafting supplies but always wonderful to ‘rediscover’ them. Do you find you do the same thing?

Happy stamping.

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY

Hello and thank you for popping by today – it’s my 36th wedding anniversary and I wanted to share a card that’s perfect for the occasion.

It is also a card for this week’s Global Design Project #297 Colour Challenge. I love this colour combination but needed to think of a more masculine way to combine them.

After some thinking time, I decided to use the Henna Hearts Stamp Set and one of the new Plenty of Patterns Decorative Masks.

I placed the heart stamp onto my Stamparatus and used the hinge-step technique to stamp the image three times, once in each of the colours from the challenge. Each image overlapped slightly, creating a colour variation. The next step involved stamping the sentiment, from the Art in Bloom Stamp Set, using Blackberry Bliss.

For the card front, I used painter’s tape to hold the mask in place over a large piece of Basic White cardstock before colouring the card. Using my Blending Brushes, I blended the three colours across the card. Once the mask was removed, there was lots of great colour separated by clean, white lines. Before I adhered this piece of cardstock to the Fresh Freesia cardbase, I tied a bow in a length of Fresh Freesia Open Weave Ribbon and wrapped it around this layer.

I cut a piece of Pear Pizzazz cardstock and embossed it with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. THen I centred it on the card front. The three hearts layer was popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and angled on the front of the card.

The card insert and envelope were stamped with the same heart image. The finishing touch was to add a few Fresh Freesia In Colour Jewels.

I am really enjoying developing my blending techniques. Have you used the Blending Brushes yet? What do you think about them?

I think my favourite thing about this card is my sentiment – ‘Never not loving you’. This is perfect for my anniversary today.

Happy stamping.
