FIVE HAPPY PENGUINS

Hello, hello. Thank you for popping by to see what I have for you today.

My daughter shares an apartment with a lovely young woman from Wales. She works as a paediatric nurse and has recently been given permanent residency and a new job, at he hospital she works in. And, what does any daughter with a mum who makes cards do? She asked me to make a card to congratulate her.

My daughter’s room mate adores penguins and, fortunately, we now have the Count on Me Stamp Set.

If you have been visiting regularly over the last few weeks you will know that my Stamparatus has been put to good use. I used it again for this card so that I could evenly space and position the congratulations message, which comes from the A Grand Kid Stamp Set. Then I stamped and coloured the penguins before I was back doing some fussy cutting. Two of the penguins were mirrored stamped.

Each of the penguins was then popped up, on the card front, using Stampin’ Dimensionals. I also stamped and coloured the penguiins on the card insert and envelope – you know me, that’s my thing. I added some Clear Wink of Stella on each of the balloons. I’m not sure why I didn’t add any bling to the card – oops.

As you can see, I used quite a few colours to brighten up the five floating penguins. I can’t wait to use the other cute animal images for some new projects.

Do you know someone who loves penguins?

Happy stamping.

PLAYFUL PENGUINS

Hello! Thanks for popping by for today’s project share.

I am so excited to show you this card – it is super cute!

The Count on Me Stamp Set features six awesome animal images – a bear, a kiwi, a fox, a kangaroo, a penguin and a pair of koalas.

Today, it’s all about the penguin.

I started by choosing the Designer Series Paper – Pattern Party 12″x 12″ Designer Series Paper. This is only available through Stampin’ Rewards. For this card I decided that the rows of colourful hearts and semicircles of dots would be perfect. From there I decided to use Granny Apple Green cardstock for the base. I cut the DSP smaller than I usually do so that I could angle it on the card front.

I stamped the penguin image three times – once as a mirrir image. Then I coloured them using coordinating Stampin’ Blends. The three images were cut using one of the Layering Circles Dies. I also cut three coordinating scalloped circles, using the same dies set. The circles were adhered to the scalloped circles and then popped up on the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I stamped, coloured and fussy cut six extra balloons to add to the circles. They were popped up on dimensionals so that they looked as though they were floating with the penguins. The birthday greetings are from the Party Puffins Stamp Set. They were stamped onto Bermuda Bay cardstock using the same coloured ink, before they were trimmed and placed where you see them. The penguin was also stamped, with some colouring, on the card insert and the envelope. The final touch was to add some Clear Wink of Stella on the balloons.

Lots of lovely Stampin’ Blends colours for this cute and colourful card. I cannot wait to make some more projects using this stamp set.

Do you have someone, in your life, who loves penguins? My daughter’s room mate does, so I think she will keep this for her birthday.

Happy stamping.
