TUESDAY TECHNIQUES & TIPS

Today I have three cards to share with you. They were projects from the Creativity Now crafting event for demonstrators.

These are the new products that were used for this event – Peaceful Garden Suite Collection.

These are the three cards that were designed for the event. Demonstrators received measurements and instructions for each project.

TECHNIQUE: The strips of Designer Series Paper were torn at one end. To reveal the white edge you need to tear the paper towards you.

TECHNIQUE: After die cutting some twigs they then had some colour added using a Blending Brush to lightly transfer some of the Cloud Cover ink.

The second card features some Peaceful Garden Glimmer Paper, embossed Cloud Cover card, A panel of Designer Series Paper and a Basic White panel with a stamped greeting.

TECHNIQUE: By leaving a pocket under the DSP panel, a tag can be inserted. This gives you another place to write a message.

TIP: Add a strip of the DSP to the card insert and more to the back of the envelope.

Finally, I added some of the white Hues of Blue Flowers.

The final card was made from a piece of Designer Series Paper.

This card uses a length of Misty Moonlight Silver Edges Ribbon to wrap around and secure the card’s opening.

TIP: Turn a white tag into a pale blue by using Cloud Cover ink and a Blending Brush. Start adding colour by rotating the brush off the tag and slowly brushing across it.

TECHNIQUE: It is quite easy to create your own coordinating envelope to match the card.

MEMORIES NEED TO BE MADE ON MONDAYS

Well, I get to say ‘welcome back’ after my week away on holdiays.

Today I want to share some scrapbooking layouts that I made during the Creativity Now virtual event that many Stampin’ Up! demonstrators were able to take part in earlier this month.

The event featured the soon to be available Peaceful Garden Suite Collection and the Peaceful Days Scrapbooking Workshop Kit.

Both the Suite and the Workshop Kit are just stunning and will be available when the September – December 2025 Mini Catalogue goes live.

The first six images show the layouts made using the Peaceful Days Scrapbooking Workshop Kit.

The kit comes with great instructions.

I bought a few clear plastic wallets to store the pieces of DSP and two-tone card that I precut for the layouts.

Where there are elements overlapping the photo spaces I left them unglued so that I easily position photos before securing the elements later.

On these two pages I miscut the DSP but I was able to make some basic adjustments to still get a great result.

The page of stickers makes decorating each layout quick and easy to embellish.

Using the Peaceful Greenery 3D Embossing Folder on elements of the layouts added some great additional texture.

After finishing the 6 layouts, from the workshop kit, I went on to create an extra layout using some of theleftover papers from the kit.

I also used the new Party Alphabet Dies and the Party Banner Dies.

It was fun to use strips of the leftover DSP, in varying widths, to create the background for the photo spaces and thepage title.

These scrapbook layouts were great to create.

I’m looking forward to the upcoming Virtual Album Retreat where I will be able to create 12 double page layouts , one for each month of the year.

FUN FOLD FRIDAY HAS ARRIVED

Each Friday I enjoy sharing a Fun Fold card.

Today I have a variation of a Trifold Easel Fun Fold card that was inspired by the ‘pop up’ large butterfly die from the Beautiful Butterflies Dies.

I started with a 12″x 12″ Basic White card that I cut to 5 3/4″ and then scored at 4″ and 8″.

The largest butterfly die in the collection (top right) is designed to cut an upper butterfly layer on a card that flips up leaving a ‘full’ card back.

For this card I cut the butterfly card front although I did not cut away the card around the butterfly.

I cut a piece of Balmy Blue card to add to the card front around the butterfly shape. I also cut a Balmy Blue bokeh butterfly to attach to the butterfly flap.

The front of the card is quite simple. I did colour some Iridescent Faceted Gems with the Dark Balmy Blue Stampin’ Blends pen.

I cut a second bokeh butterfly and placed it inside the first inside layer. This layer folds out to be the bottom of the Easel card.

I cut a third butterfly and placed it in the same place on the ‘inside’ layer.

The third panel had a panel of Balmy Blue and Basic White card added so that someone could write their message to the recipient.

This insert had a splatted image stamped on it twice. The back of the envelope was also stamped with the splatter images.

Finally the greeting was stamped and die cut. After positioning the greeting, as the easel card anchor, I added some coloured Iridescent Faceted Gems.

I’m not quite sure what I will have for you next week but I’m sure that it will inspire you.
