BEST DRESSED in BLOOM

This card is a bit different … I wanted to see how I could use the SO VERY VELLUM with the BEST DRESSED DSP.

I chose a piece of the handbags paper, because I hadn’t used it already, and then cut the vellum into squares and layered them … there was no plan, just see where it goes.

The “Happiness looks gorgeous on you”, from the TAGS IN BLOOM stamp set, seemed a perfect match for Best Dressed.

Cutting, layering and colouring … add some Wink and coloured pearls bling … and this is the result.

TROPICAL OASIS

Yesterday and today, we have experienced our very own tropical weather with temperatures in the mid-30s and high humidity.

It’s just as well that I can turn on the air conditioning and create in my own cool oasis … using the TROPICAL OASIS SUITE, of course.

Using the Stampin’ Blends to colour the hibiscus was very therapeutic … building the intensity of the colours was a revelation.

The COASTAL WEAVE 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER is sooooo amazing … I love the texture it gives.

The suite coordinates with 10 colours … that is incredibly versatile. I can’t wait to keep creating projects with the suite.

As a mum, I unconditionally love and support my two gorgeous daughters … aged 29 and 25. I trust that I have shared enough life advice as they need as they transition into their independent adult live.

I think everyone treasures what they have been taught by family. I hold especially close to my heart the things my grandmother, Grandma Donnie, taught me … if you go to the city, you dress properly (and that might include wearing stockings); if you are on a bus, younger people stand for those who are older; if you go to the theatre, you never enter after the act begins … and many more … BUT, the lesson I remember dearly is, that, the card you give is more personal than the gift! And, you know, I think she was right.

My grandmother was a classic beauty and a classy lady. The photos I have of her, during her operatic singing career and when she married my paternal grandfather, are breathtaking. She was elegant and sophisticated and I thought of her when I saw this suite … she would have approved … because she was always immaculately groomed and stunningly dressed … she would be IMPRESSED!
