mmm...Stampin' Time

It is very rare for me to make a project without using a stamp set, but that is what happened as this card evolved.

I started with a piece of DSP from the FLOWERS FOR EVERY SEASON 6″x 6″ pack. A gorgeous piece filled with roses in shades of BUMBLEBEE.

I looked through my stamp sets and had a few ideas but nothing was jumping out at me to use with this paper.

That’s when I remembered that I had the coordinating FLOWERS FOR EVERY SEASON MEMORIES & MORE CARD PACK.

As I flipped through the pack I found a small card with the same roses, although slightly lighter in colour, with a sentiment in CINNAMON CIDER. Done!

From there it was full steam ahead – emboss some Cinnamon Cider card stock, cut a piece of the rose DSP, trim down the Memories & More card, mount it onto a mat background, add some ribbon and linen thread, use lots of dimensionals and I was done.

I also added a half inch strip of the DSP to the envelope and inside the card.

And just like my card posted yesterday, this card didn’t need any other embellishments.

The sentiments in the LOVELY YOU STAMP SET are just that, lovely; as are the images.

For the strips of ‘DSP’ I stamped two of the images – a flower and spray of leaves, onto Whisper White card stock using Just Jade and Terracotta Tile.

I love that we have so many dies that can be used for any project. This card has dies from two different sets – ORNATE BORDERS and TASTEFUL LABELS.

The Just Jade DSP on the card front is from the FLOWERS FOR EVERY SEASON 6″X 6″ DSP pack.

I seem to be making quite a few cards, at the moment, that use just three colours. This one includes Just Jade, Terracotta Tile and Whisper White plus a neutral from the braid.

Once the card got to this stage I took quite a while to decide whether to add some embellishments – in the end, I decided not to.

What do you think – does it need anything else?

This card also uses the FIELD OF FLOWERS STAMP SET.

I chose to combine the sentiments ‘ALWAYS’ with ‘MY FRIEND’ for this card.

For this card I chose a different floral combination. I stamped the stalk and flower, and splattered ink, onto three separate pieces of Whisper White card stock and then dry embossed them using the OLD WORLD PAPER 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER, twice.

The first panel was kept intact. The second and third panels were trimmed back one eighth of an inch – the second panel was cut in half and the third panel was cut at one third.

I think it everything else is self-explanatory when you look at the image.

The OLD WORLD PAPER 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER creates my favourite texture!
