ALMOST EASTER

With the Easter weekend just a few short days away, I thought that I would make some hand-crafted packaging for gifts to share.

My first gift box was designed to hold five, small Lindt bunnies.

I used the swap that I received at the Paper Angels event I was recently invited to as the ‘prototype’ for this project. Thank you Maree!

Who doesn’t love a little Lindt chocolate at this time of year?

This is a grown up’s Easter gift!

This gift box is larger than the swap I was so fortunate to receive. My tip for gift boxes and bags – deconstruct the project and then adapt with new measurements.

The mini bunnies are dressed in gold foil – so I went with gold foil and the ORNATE GARDENS SPECIALTY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER.

The coordinating ORNATE BORDER DIES were ideal for the gold accent and layered flowers on top of the box.

The sentiment came from the FABLE FRIENDS STAMP SET and the tassel is from the BEST DRESSED SUITE. There is unlimited coordination across all Stampin’ Up! ® products.

A SNEAK PEEK, INSIDE

Enjoy your Easter weekend – even if you are isolated from family and friends.

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.

BIRTHDAY CARDS

Yesterday I decided to take on the monthly demonstrator challenge from Stampin’ Up! ® . The theme for this month’s #simplestamping challenge is HAPPY BIRTHDAY; using only stamps, ink and paper.

I used the Note Cards and Envelopes because these are ideal for beginner stampers. Not every new paper crafter will want to rush out and order lots of card stock and a paper trimmer. So these packs of 20 card bases and envelopes make card making more accessible.

I used the LABEL ME BOLD stamp set, three colours, paper snips and multipurpose glue for this card. Six of the birthday sentiments have been layered many times to create height on the card.

This card is more subtle. The sentiment comes from the PERENNIAL BIRTHDAY stamp set and the flower from the ORNATE STYLE stamp set. I coloured the flower using Stampin’ Write Markers ™.

The LAYERED WITH KINDNESS stamp set and two classic stampin’ pads, make this such a quick and easy card.

BIRTHDAY BONANZA is a great name for this stamp set – it is a bonanza of party images and sentiments. I used the same three colours as the first card – Mango Melody, Melon Mambo and Pacific Point – bright and bold.

Using a stamp on – stamp off techniques gives two or three different shades of the one colour. I used the PERENNIAL BIRTHDAY stamp set again, along with the POSITIVE THOUGHTS stamp set for this card. Soft Sea Foam and Crumb Cake – just two colours used for this design.

Five birthday cards and 15 more card bases and envelopes to play with!

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.

Here are the products I used to create these five cards.

NOTES OF KINDNESS

I took out one of my Stampin’ Up! ® Kits yesterday to make some cards.

The great thing about one of these All-Inclusive Kits is that it supplies everything needed to make, in this case, 20 cards (5 each of 4 designs).

Notes of Kindness Kit by Stampin'Up!
Aussie Stampers : NEW Notes of Kindness Card Kit. Stampin' Up!

So, I made one each of each design. I felt like a beginner stamper again – ink, stamps and paper and designs that were easy to follow.

It reminded me of how my paper crafting experiences have introduced me to new techniques and ideas – and how my crafting supplies have grown.

As a paper-crafter, I have evolved. From easier projects with step by step instructions, I began to change up designs and add my own touches. Because I had a wider range of skills, tools and supplies; I was crafting more often and my projects became a bit more involved. I was no longer a beginning (occasional) stamper but became a casual (more often, with more supplies).

Over time, and with more experience, most of the projects I create are now more complex – I am now an avid paper-crafter.

After making the first set of four cards, I decided it was time to step it up … and then step it up again …beginner, casual and avid projects.

Let me know what you think of these projects.

Thanks from popping by … happy stamping.
