HAPPY BIRTHDAY

My lovely niece, Eleanor, contacted me recently and asked if I would make a birthday card for her to give to her mum (my sister).

She wanted me to somehow include ‘super’ as a reference to, not only to her getting closer to an age when she can access her superannuation, but to her work as an economist.

It was a fun project to make and it’s in the mail so that Elle has time to send it to Karen.

The only problem is, I now need to make a different card to send to Karen!

It has been ages since I made a pop up box.

I wanted the card to be bright and shiny, so I chose some of the BRIGHTLY GLEAMING SPECIALTY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER.

The copper foil looks so striking against the Pretty Peacock and Night of Navy.

I decided to use the PLAYFUL ALPHABET DIES to cut out the letters for Karen’s initials and the word ‘super’.

This is the first time I have used the ENVELOPES DIES to actually cut out an envelope liner – I’ve used for them for all sorts of different projects.

I made this card during my Facebook Live – as they say, two birds with one stone.

These are the measurements, as promised:

CARD BASE 8.5″ x 5″, scored along the long side at 2″, 4″, 6″ and 8″ then, on the short side at 2″.

INSERTS Cut two pieces of card stock #.25″ x 1″ and score at both ends at 5/8″.

DSP Three pieces 2 7/8″ x 1 7/8″; three pieces 1 7/8″ x 1 7/8″

CARD STOCK One piece 4 7/8″ x 1 7/8″

Here is a link to my Facebook Live to see how I made the card – just click.

I hope you like the card as much as my niece does.

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE

This definitely reminds me of a Beatles’ song.

I have used the WREATH BUILDER DIES a few times now, but have totally overlooked the heary die.

It wasn’t until I recently watched a Facebook Live from Emma Goddard, Coastal Crafter. She showcased this die in her projects.

For my card, I decided to use the RED VELVET PAPER to die cut the hearts.

This is quite a simple card.

The Night of Navy layer has been embossed using the TASTEFUL TEXTILES 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER.

The coordinating Night of Navy ribbon is from the PLAYING WITH PATTERNS RIBBON COMBO PACK. I used the ‘rule of 3’ to wrap the ribbon and tie the bow.

The same rule was applied to the three die cut hearts from the WREATH BUILDER DIES.

And finally, I stamped the Real Red hearts using the LOTS TO CELEBRATE STAMP SET.

Do you love it?

THANKS FOR BEING THERE CARD

After I had die cut the five Night of Navy panels for the gift box I posted yesterday, I noticed the four shapes from the centre resembled fleur de lis … and so another project idea developed.

This card has an uncomplicated design – a blue and white ’tile’, four fleur de lis, a sentiment on a die cut piece of white card and some basic jewels.

i think this is quite an elegant card – what do you think?

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.
