DOUBLE TROUBLE

Hello to my stamping friends – welcome and thanks for popping by.

Today I’m sharing another first time project. As I wander through Facebook groups and Pinterest, I am amazed at the number of card styles and fancy folds that I am yet to try.

THis project is a DOUBLE DISPLAY CARD.

It was time to use some of the paper from the 2020-2021 Annual Catalogue. I chose the WHALE OF A TIME 6″x 6″ DSP for this card. The card base uses Pretty Peacock card stock. I also used Blackberry Bliss panels.

For the front and insert pieces I cut the DSP and then fussy cut lots of the turtles to have them ‘swim’ in the scenes.

The birthday greeting and coordinating die are from the FINE ART FLORAL BUNDLE. The greeting was stamped in Pretty Peacock onto Pool Party card stock.

The ribbon is from the PLAYING WITH PATTERNS RIBBON COMBO PACK and is secured on the back of the card under a panel of Pretty Peacock and Basic White card – a perfect place to write a birthday message.

I adhered some of the SEQUINS FOR EVERYTHING on the front of the card.

When the bow is untied and the card opened out you can see all the decorated panels.

The best way to view the card is when it is open and standing – that’s when you can see all the interesting pop out panels.

A closer look and you can see that my fussy cutting is getting so much better!

This card certianly involved a few more steps and some careful measuring to get all the elements just right, but it was well worth the effort.

Happy stamping!

TIME TO SPLIT

Hello and I’m so pleased that you have popped by to see today’s project. I always appreciate your interest and would love to hear from you – where do you live, what do you like, what would you like me to share or anthing other comment or question you may have.

No more Tranquil Thoughts today. I wanted to use the SAND & SEA SUITE again.

For this card I wanted to try a variation of a split negative stamping technique. Here is an example that I found online.

I was pleased to find Gail’s samples – they are amazing!

I wanted to see what a card would look like with more than two panels and using different colours. I chose Basic White, Crumb Cake, Petal Pink and Tuxedo Black Memento. (oops, this photo is a bit wonky!)

As you can see I stamped the image three times – thanks to my Stamparatus. Black on Basic White, Petal Pink on Petal Pink and Crumb Cake on Crumb Cake. I coloured the black on white image using a Crumb Cake Blends. Each layer was then cut so that they could be pieced together.

The fussy cut shell that sits over the top of the layered pieces was stamped in Crumb Cake and coloured using Petal Pink and Calypso Coral Belnds.

I applied the Clear Wink of Stella liberally to give this shell some bling.

The ‘Friends’ sentiment is so lovely. This is the card that I sent to Fran Brown, Lafayette, IN. Fran often pops in to watch my Facebook Live each week and I am grateful that she does.

It’s easy to forget all the dies that there are for cutting out sentiments. I know that I don’t use the ovals from the STITCHED SHAPES DIES as often as I could.

The final touch was to add some FROSTED EPOXY DROPLETS.

Make sure you let me know what you think.

Happy stamping.

SOMETHING A LITTLE SIMPLER

Hello – I’m so pleased that you have popped by for this project share.

I wanted to use the TRANQUIL THOUGHTS BUNDLE again but using a different colour palette to the projects I have shared over the past few days. And, a card that is a little simpler.

I chose Pretty Peacock as the main colour and a sheet of paper from the FINE ART FLORAL DESIGNER SERIES PAPER to cut the corner leaves die. The brushstroke style of this piece of DSP adds wonderful colour variation to the front of the card.

I don’t think that you can ever have too many Thank You cards on hand. I stamped the sentiment on Pretty Peacock and cut it out using one of the oval STITICHED SHAPES DIES. For a backing piece, I used a larger oval to cut a pice of vellum.

The Coastal Cabana ribbon is from the PLAYING WITH PATTERNS RIBBON COMBO PACK.

The finishing touch was to place a few FROSTED CLEAR EPOXY DROPLETS on the card front.

And, you know me – no naked card insert or envelope.

Definitely a pretty card.

Happy stamping.
