A VERY TALL TREE

Hello! Thanks for popping by to see what I have shared today.

Today’s project features the WOODLAND WONDER STAMP SET. One of the great benefits of photopolmer stamps is how easy it is to align images. The tree image is made up of three separate stamps.

This is such a wonderful set for colouring. I used a variety of STAMPIN’ BLENDS for this card. The animals are too cute!

I chose a piece of paper from the FINE ART FLORAL DESIGNER SERIES PAPER collection as the background layer. I think it makes this card very cheerful. The lighter shades of pink, in the DSP, allowed me coordinate the Blushing Bride twine from the SNAIL MAIL TWINE COMBO PACK as well as the LIGHT FLIRTY FLAMINGO BLENDS pen. The pinks look lovely against the Balmy Blue card base.

This card is perfect for a child’s birthday and it was super quick and easy to make.

Happy stamping.

CASEing FOR GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #284

Hello and thank you being here. I am so pleased that you are popping by to see what my latest project is.

So, my new Friday posts will be a project from the Global Design Project’s weekly challenges.

This week, the challenge is to CASE a card by Krista Frattin, a talented GDP team member from Canada.

CASE = Copy And Selectively Edit

The tip we are given is that when you CASE a project, you can take what you like from the design and make it your own. It might be the stamp set – the colors, the layout, the theme, the images – whatever you like that has inspired you to make a card of your own.

I chose to go with the layout and definitely changed colours, stamp set and dies.

It was time to dust off my NOTHING’S BETTER THAN STAMP SET, LOVE YOU MORE THAN DIES and PAINTED LABELS DIES.

I’m not sure if the RAINBOW GLIMMER PAPER will carry over into the new 2021 – 2022 ANNUAL CATALOGUE, so I definitely want to use it up and I knew that it would be great for this card. Bright, bold and shimmery!

I decided to use the SUBTLES 6″x 6″ DSP – the new designs that will be in the upcoming 2021 – 2022 ANNUAL CATALOGUE. As a demonstrator, I was fortunate enough to order all four colour families and the 2020 -2022 In Colours DSP packs during Sale-a-bration. By using it here on this project, I hope that you will like the pattern well enough to add the new DSP to your collection.

I think that I am going to remove the bow – what do you think? I think it needs to be black or gone.

Happy stamping!

CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEW GRANDPARENTS!

Hello to each you wonderful crafters who pop by regularly to see what I have been ‘up to’. If you are popping by for the first time – thank you!

Today’s card has been made for friends of ours who are now grandparents for the first time. Thank goodness for the TREASURES OF LIFE STAMP SET.

This stamp set is in the 2021 January – June Mini Catalogue and I hope that it carries over to the 2021 – 2022 ANNUAL CATALOGUE.

I stamped the grandmother and grandchild image onto FLUID 100 WATER COLOUR PAPER, using Jet Black Stazon Ink. Then I used my WATER PAINTERS to colour this image using Crumb Cake, Early Espresso, Petal Pink, Rococo Rose and Soft Suede. Then, I added some Wink of Stella to the Rococo Rose ‘sweater’.

After stamping and colouring, I used my STITCHED RECTANGLES and STITCHED SHAPES DIES to cut prepare the layers for the card front.

Then I used strips of vellum, card stock and ribbon to create the centre segment of the card.

The sentiment was placed under the stamped image and central layer.

I made a double Linen Thread bow for the card front.

Open the card and this is what you will see, in the first card layer!

The envelope front, and the final card layer, feature the baby hand within the grandmother’s hand image.

The final, inside layer features DSP and the hand in hand image – which was stamped onto Vellum using some Jet Black StazOn’ ink.

Do you have a friend who has recently become a first time grandparent? Do you think they would like to receive this card?
