HOUSE WARMING GIFT

When I first saw the HEARTWARMING HUGS SUITE I didn’t put it on my list … initially.

After I combed through the AUGUST – DECEMBER MINI CATALOGUE, I gave it a longer study and tried to think of other ways I could use some of the products.

A few ideas started developing … and I also started looking at other products I could use …

Eventually, this is what I decided on – a house warming gift carrier.

The cruet set is a little tall for the carrier, but it shows you what I was thinking. I need to try two mini bubbles bottles next.

A little colouring, using Stampin’ Blends

It took two stamp sets to create the greeting.

So the project was a collaboration between the HEARTWARMING HUGS SUITE and the TRIMMING THE TOWN SUITE … and nothing Christmas related in site.

Now I just have to wait now to find someone who is moving into a new home to give them a house warming gift.

One of the great features of the TRIMMING THE TOWN DSP is that the HOME TOGETHER DIES die cut the house images perfectly.

So you can either stamp and colour all the little houses and die cut them or just die cut the DSP!

I’m going to enjoy finding goodies to pop inside the carrier and then decorate accordingly.

I may also create something using the coffee cups – so many things to create – projects for another day.

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.

MISSING YOU

Who do you miss at the moment?

There are so many family and friends that we haven’t been able to see, in person, for quite a while. And, we don’t know when we can.

For so many people the restrictions are even more isolating than it is for me.

I have a niece, living alone in Melbourne, who will soon be able to have one nominated visitor.

I’m in the process of putting together a care package for her, filled with goodies to enjoy. I am going to add this card so that she can send it to someone she misses.

I totally adore the LOYAL LEAVES STAMP SET. The shape and the details of the leaves are stunning.

For this card, I wanted to heat emboss the images using the clear STAMPIN’ EMBOSS POWDER before water colouring them.

And, as some of you may already know – I do not relish fussy cutting but this was worth it.

I think this was the first time I used the BRICK AND MORTAR 3D EMBOSSING FOLDER – I don’t know why, it’s fantastic and worked as a great background.

I hope Scout likes it and has someone special to send it to.

Who would you send a ‘missing you’ card to?

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY

My lovely niece, Eleanor, contacted me recently and asked if I would make a birthday card for her to give to her mum (my sister).

She wanted me to somehow include ‘super’ as a reference to, not only to her getting closer to an age when she can access her superannuation, but to her work as an economist.

It was a fun project to make and it’s in the mail so that Elle has time to send it to Karen.

The only problem is, I now need to make a different card to send to Karen!

It has been ages since I made a pop up box.

I wanted the card to be bright and shiny, so I chose some of the BRIGHTLY GLEAMING SPECIALTY DESIGNER SERIES PAPER.

The copper foil looks so striking against the Pretty Peacock and Night of Navy.

I decided to use the PLAYFUL ALPHABET DIES to cut out the letters for Karen’s initials and the word ‘super’.

This is the first time I have used the ENVELOPES DIES to actually cut out an envelope liner – I’ve used for them for all sorts of different projects.

I made this card during my Facebook Live – as they say, two birds with one stone.

These are the measurements, as promised:

CARD BASE 8.5″ x 5″, scored along the long side at 2″, 4″, 6″ and 8″ then, on the short side at 2″.

INSERTS Cut two pieces of card stock #.25″ x 1″ and score at both ends at 5/8″.

DSP Three pieces 2 7/8″ x 1 7/8″; three pieces 1 7/8″ x 1 7/8″

CARD STOCK One piece 4 7/8″ x 1 7/8″

Here is a link to my Facebook Live to see how I made the card – just click.

I hope you like the card as much as my niece does.

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.
