MINI ALBUM

I have had a pack or two of the FLOWERS FOR EVERY SEASON MEMORIES & MORE CARD PACK and the coordinating CARDS & ENVELOPES sitting in my cupboard unused until now.

For this project I used half of the envelopes and Memories and More pack to make a mini album.

I trimmed the envelopes down to 6.25″ x 4″ and kept the flap in tact. On my Facebook Live, yesterday, I shared how I made this album.

If you click on the image below, you can watch the Facebook Live I did on Wednesday showing you how to make it.

The album cover was created using two 6.25″ x 4.25″ pieces of Magenta Madness card stock. These were then covered with some of the FLOWERS FOR EVERY SEASON 6″x 6″ DSP cut to 6″x 4″. A strip of the DSP was also used to create a spine covering, although it was cut in half to allow it ‘stretch’ to the top and bottom of the album. The gap was easily filled with a length of IN COLOUR RIBBON.

When opened, the album reveals the five In Colours.

Each section opens out allowing space for photos to be added and journaling completed.

Each section has a pocket with a piece of Whisper White card stock slipped inside.

I am very pleased with the end result.

Check out my video to see how to make your own.

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.

END OF SCHOOL YEAR

It is just four short weeks until the end of the 2020 school year here in Queensland.

Rob and I enjoyed a lovely three night, long weekend, getaway at Noosa Heads well ahead of the holiday craziness. Schoolies will inundate the Sunshine Coast this weekend, so we timed it perfectly.

I spent yesterday working on projects for this week’s posts. The first was a teacher appreciation card.

The HARVEST HELLOS STAMP SET is perfect for this.

I started by stamping the half apple image using my Stamparatus and the hinge step technique, as well as masking. If you have never done this before, I will have a technique video to share with you soon.

The other technique I used was mirror image stamping. I used my SILICONE CRAFT SHEET to stamp the image and then pressed my card stock onto the sheet. Then I aligned the stamp against the mirror image, to create an image of an apple sliced in half.

The STAMPIN’ WRITE MARKERS, in Garden Green and Poppy Parade, were used to colour the apple skins.

I fussy cut the apples, rather than punch them, because I didn’t want the white outline. However, I did punch out the stems and leaves.

A piece of Poppy Parade DSP, from the BRIGHTS 6″x 6″ DSP, was die cut and used behind the apples. The dies is from the ORNATE BORDERS DIES.

Twine, a touch of Wink of Stella and a punched out greeting finish this card.

Have you ever given an end of year card and gift to a teacher? If you’re a teacher, what has been your most treasured student gift?

RAINBOW GEARS

Who said all things mechanical needed to dark and greasy!

For this card, I wanted to make a more feminine, geared up, birthday card. I can see this card being given to a young woman on her 18th or 21st birthday – if a car might be involved.

The RAINBOW GLIMMER PAPER is perfect for this card. I used my GARAGE GEARS DIES to die cut the largest gears die, three times.

These were then adhered to the Whisper White card front mat. A length of POOL PARTY 3/8″ SHEER RIBBON was tied into a bow and wrapped around the mat front.

A banner piece was cut from the Glimmer Paper and a birthday greeting, from the HAPPIEST OF BIRTHDAYS STAMP SET, was stamped using STAZON onto more glimmer paper. After the birthday greeting was trimmed, it was popped up on Stampin’ Dimensionals and attached to the banner piece.

The card insert and envelope had die cut glimmer paper cogs attached.

I do like this card – what do you think? Who would you give it to?
