JUST ADD COLOUR

Hello lovely ones – thanks for popping by to see my latest project.

Yesterday I shared a card that used some of the TRUE LOVE DESIGNER SERIES PAPER. It only had a little bit of colouring and it was very subtle.

Today’s project brings the colour and lots of it. I used Flirty Flamingo, Granny Apple Green, Highland Heather and Poppy Parade Blends to colour a 2-3/8″ (6cm) strip of one of the DSP designs.

The OVAL OCCASIONS BUNDLE was perfect for this gift box. The scalloped shape from the DOUBLE OVAL PUNCH is a great size for the top of the box.

I enjoy having gift boxes on hand – ready to fill and give.

The LINEN THREAD makes an awesome multiple bow. The CLEVER CLASP holds the opening closed very effectively.

Now it’s time fill it with lots of delicious chocolates and give it to someone special.

Thanks again for popping by … happy stamping.

A NEW TWIST ON CARD MAKING

Hello – I am so pleased that you have popped by.

I don’t often make fun fold cards, so I went Googling for a few ideas. As I was scrolling through lots of ideas Icame across a twisted gate-fold card and realised that I have never made one. How is that possible?

I broke open my packet of TRUE LOVE DESIGNER SERIES PAPER for this card.

The card base was cut to 8-1/4″x 5-3/4″ (21cm x 14.5cm) and scored it along the longer side at 2-3/4″ and 5-1/2″ (7cm and 14cm).

Then I scored the left and right hand panels diagonally, as you can see.

I cut several pieces of the DSP to 5-1/2″x 2-1/2″ (13.9cm x 6.3cm). Three of the pieces were cut diagonally.

I coloured just a scattering of flowers and leaves on the panels. I also coloured some Pearl Basic Jewels for the front panel.

The sentiment, on the front of the card, comes from the HEAL YOUR HEART STAMP SET and the greeting inside the card is from the DRAGONFLY GARDEN STAMP SET. Both were stamped in Mint Macaron.

I used one of the dies from the STITCHED SO SWEETLY DIES to cut the front Mint Macaron panel. I fussy cut one of the large flowers from the DSP and coloured it using my Mint Macaron and So Saffron Blends. I also added Clear Wink of Stella to the flower.

I wanted to add a white panel to the back of the card for messages to be written for the recipient.

Who has done a kindness for you recently?

Thanks for popping by … happy stamping.

A RARE FIND

It is lovely to share another post with each of you. Hello and thank you for popping by.

This is the last card, in the collection of 7 cards and 1 gift box, that I made in one day of very productive and satisfying crafting.

There is a lovely greeting in the FLOWERING CACTUS PRODUCT MEDLEY – ‘You are a rare find my dear friend’. Isn’t it such a wonderful way to let a friend know what they mean to you?

I used the TREASURED TAGS PICK A PUNCH for the sentiment tag.

This is the first card that I used this piece of DSP on. The cactii and flowers are more compact than on some of the other DSP designs. I think the scale is ideal for a more intimate type of card.

And, of course, this is another uncomplicated card design. I like it when the products that I am using are doing all the work.

A fussy cut cactus sits on top of a coordination die cut cactus shape – the white border helps the cactus pop.

The strip of DSP has the linen thread wrapped and tied around it. It is also popped up on dimensionals for height.

Then I coloured and placed 9 small PEARL BASIC JEWELS in three areas (three each in three colours).

I know it is time to give the cactii and succulents a rest but I will definitely return. I have photos from Singapore’s Gardens by the Bay, that we visited in Novembet 2019. We were overwhelmed by the stunning array of plants displayed. One area featured cactii and succulents, so I think I know what I can use to do some Memory Keeping – stay tuned.

Happy stamping.
