MOTHER’S DAY

Hello and thank you for popping by. I’m pleased that you are here to check out my latest project.

With Mother’s Day fast approaching, I thought that it was time for me to start making some more cards.

I was aware that not all countries celebrate Mother’s Day on the same day, so I did soe research. Countries that celebrate Mother’s Day on the second Sunday of May include Australia, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Switzerland, Turkey and Belgium. In Mexico and many parts of Latin America, Mother’s Day is celebrated on May 10th of each year. In Thailand, it is celebrated on August 12th, the birthday of the current Queen. (https://www.officeholidays.com/holidays/mothers-day)

I used the BLOSSOMS IN BLOOM STAMP SET and WELL SAID STAMP SET for this card. I also used the WORD WISHES DIES and STITCHED SO SWEETLY DIES.

The colours I chose for this project were Balmy Blue, Garden Green, Gorgeous Grape and Highland Heather. For the card front, I used a simple masking technique to stamp the leaves.

This is actually the card I made during my Facebook Live yesterday. I used my Gorgeous Grape Sheer Ribbon and the white twine from the SNAIL MAIL TWINE COMBP PACK for the double bow.

And, this was the sample card that I was able to show before I started to make the earlier card. I like to have a sample so that those people who watch the Live, or replay, can see what’s coming.

The final touch for both cards was to colour the PEARL BASIC JEWELS to coordinate.

I think that you also need to have a gift box so that you can pop something lovely in the box to give her!

I stamped my own Designer Series Paper and then cut it out to attach to the sides and lid of the box.

Let me share the instructions for the gift box so that you can make your mum one as well.

If you make a gift box of your own, make sure that you send me a message with a photo.

Happy stamping – and, 3D project making!

FRESHLY BREWED PROJECTS – SIDE FOLD CARD

Hello and thank you for popping by. If this is your first visit, I hope you are inspired by what you see. If you are returning, you are totally awesome for taking the time and I value you checking out what I have been up to.

Welcome to another Wednesday Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop. Thank you for joining me, and the other wonderful Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators taking part.

May be an image of food, coffee cup and text that says 'Freshly Brewed PROJEGTS'

This week’s theme is SIDE FOLD CARDS. The inspiration for this project comes from Splitcoast Stampers – https://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/sidefoldcard/?fbclid=IwAR0lK4blpLbHHQoTRVKA5B6ep6DdxxL-wsa_HlNCWJ4HomSgxSCNQxi6KWs

I posted the first cards I made in the lead up to this post on March 6th – my practise cards.

These are two versions of the ‘same’ card – have you spotted the differences?

Well done if you have!

For the FRESHLY BREWED PROJECT BOLG HOP I decided to ramp it up a bit. I have been seeing lots of shared projects that incorporate a piece/panel that slides down between two card fold edges to hold them in place. I haven’t written down the name of the first person I had seen share this idea (so sorry!).

So, this is my DOUBLE SIDE FOLD CARD with CENTRAL SLIDING CLOSURE (that sounds like a pretty flashy name!!)

This card has two 1/2 inch score line, whereas my very first single side fold cards have a 1″ score line. The lefthand side fold has two notches, created using the CLASSIC LABEL PUNCH, so that the twine trim could be wrapped around and tied in a bow. The twine comes from the FLOWERS FOR EVERY SEASON COMBO PACK.

When the centre closure is lifted up and away, the card opens to reveal a centre Basic White panel for you to write your well wishes. The two outer panels have the same DSP as a colourful feature.

Basically, the centre closure is made up of the large outer STITCHED SHAPES oval and two smaller ovals. The smaller ovals are folded in half and adhered onto the back of the larger oval, equally on either side of the centre.

Here is a second card made using the same techniques.

Same card, different DSP and embellishments – and such a different look!

I am always in awe of the creative brilliance of the Stampin’ Up!© concept artists. If you have ever thumbed your way through the catalogues – Annual and Mini Catalogues, as well as Sale-a-bration and special releases; I would be stunned if you were never impressed by anything that you have seen. You may not ‘love’ everything, but I am sure that many of the products and the sample projects have lead to you wanting to add the products to your collection. (This might be why I find it hard not to order so much!!)

Make sure you visit the other projects:

Of the three SIDE FOLD CARDS I have shared with you today, which is your favourite and why? If you leave me an answer to this question, you may be one of three people that I will send this card to. WINNER, WINNER – CHICKEN DINNER.

Happy stamping.

GIFT CARD BOXES

Hello to each of you who are popping by to see what I have created this time – I hope that you leave me a comment so that I know what you think.

Ages ago, I shared some 3″x 3″ gift cards using some Designer Series Paper (DSP) from the Sael-a-bration Catalogue. I made 15 gift cards but had not ceated a gift box to pop them into. And, now I have!

This is a custom made gift box, designed to hold 15 gift cards and envelopes. Although the DSP is no longer available, I still have heaps and decided to use it to make a coordinating gift box.

GIVE AWAY ALERT – If you live in Australia and you are not a demonstrator, make sure that you leave a comment and if you are one of the first 8 crafters to do so – I will send you a 6″x 6″ DSP share.

I used the MANY MESSAGES BUNDLE for this project. I plan to stamp and die cut this in all the Stampin’ Up!© colours, so that I have a great range of sentiments ready to use!

The second gift card box was, almost, shared on a recent Facebook Live – but, there was a slight error in my measurements. I have now fixed that and will share it instructions here.

This is a perfectly sized gift box to hold 15 gifr cards and envelopes.

I made 15 gift cards to pop inside this gift box. Here they are –

The birthday sentiment and coordinating die are from the ART GALLERY BUNDLE – ART GALLERY STAMP SET & FLORAL GALLERY DIES.

I think these next three gift cards are my favourites from this bundle. Using the RECTANGLE POSTAGE STAMP PUNCH gives an amazing base panel for a small card.

I am so very happy with the way this project turned out. I think this is a wonderful gift to give to someone special on their birthday, so that they have 15 birthday gift cards to share with others.

Who would you give this birthday cards gift box to? And, why?

Happy stamping!
