SKETCH CHALLENGE

Hello and welcome to another Wednesday Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop. Thank you for joining me, and the other wonderful Stampin’ Up!® Demonstrators taking part.

This week’s theme is a SKETCH CHALLENGE. The sketch comes from Pagemaps.com – #bfpsketch121 #cardmaps

This is the first Sketch Challenge I have ever done. This is such a terrific layout for using yp scraps.

I dusted off my PLAYFUL PETS SUITE for this project.

The sketch looks like it has washi tape strips. I decided to ‘replace’ the washi tape with a strip of vellum, a fussy cut cat and a dangling bone.

Phew – there were eight different designs, amongst the PLAYFUL PETS DSP, that I could use to match the sketch.

Although I am not a cat ‘person’, I do find this sinister cat adorable. Fortunately the mice are well out of reach.

To switch things up a bit, I thought that I would make a second card in portrait style.

Oops – I didn’t even notice the Dimensional backing had drifted onto the card!

I used the DSP strips in the same order but in different widths. Then I fussy cut cat and dogs to pop onto the card front, instead of washi tape. I gave the centre dog a cute bow.

For the card insert and envelope, I used a few more strips of DSP to finish off the project.

Make sure you pop acroos to see what the others have created:

I’m rather chuffed with the way the cards turned out. I have from now until April 1st to make sure that I have used every stamp set and coordinating product in my collection – my goal before I will ‘let’ myself place a preorder from the new 2021-2022 ANNUAL CATALOGUE.

How many stamp sets do have that you have not used yet?

Happy stamping.

FACEBOOK FUN

Hello! Thank you for popping by. I’m a little late posting this morning.

Tomorrow is my weekly Facebook Live on https://www.facebook.com/mmmstampintime, at 9am (AEST). I hope that you have time to watch me live or on replay.

I thought that I would share the projects I am planning to make tomorrow.

I decided to focus on the Love You Always Suite because one of the stamp set/dies bundles is retiring and the other is carrying over into the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue.

The Forever & Always Bundle, as well as the True Love Designer Series Paper are retiring. So, if this is still on your wishlist be quick to order it while it is still available.

FOREVER AND ALWAYS BUNDLE
$79 AUD

And, Stampin’ Emboss Powders are also retiring, in their single colour packaging. They will be available as two different three packs – more information soon.

I am trying to use up the retiring ribbons quickly, so the Real Red Sheer Ribbon made its way onto this card.

The layout of this card is uncomplicated – layers of card stock and DSP, a ribbon and bow tied around the layers, stamped and die cut greeting and heat embossed and die cut flowers. Simple yet elegant, don’t you agree?

The sentiment stamp, on the card insert, actually reads “you so very much”. It is very easy to just ink up the last three words to be able to have the total greeting read ‘Love you so very much’. I also stamped the smaller floral image, using Real Red, on both the card insert and envelope.

The other project, I plan to make tomorrow, is an impossible box. It was inspired by the ones that Julie Dimatteo and Sam Colcott make.

The one I will make tomorrow will use card stock rather than DSP. The DSP is perfect for smaller boxes but I think larger boxes need more stability.

The great thing about using DSP is that when you turn down the top one inch piece, the box features the other side of the paper.

The closing mechanism of this box is so clever – I have no idea who was the first to create this box, but they are so talented.

When you press down on the lid it just folds in and closes right up.

While I cannot take any credit for this box design, I can share the instructions I have drawn up. I hope you have fun making your own.

See you tomorrow, Live.

Happy stamping.

A VERY TALL TREE

Hello! Thanks for popping by to see what I have shared today.

Today’s project features the WOODLAND WONDER STAMP SET. One of the great benefits of photopolmer stamps is how easy it is to align images. The tree image is made up of three separate stamps.

This is such a wonderful set for colouring. I used a variety of STAMPIN’ BLENDS for this card. The animals are too cute!

I chose a piece of paper from the FINE ART FLORAL DESIGNER SERIES PAPER collection as the background layer. I think it makes this card very cheerful. The lighter shades of pink, in the DSP, allowed me coordinate the Blushing Bride twine from the SNAIL MAIL TWINE COMBO PACK as well as the LIGHT FLIRTY FLAMINGO BLENDS pen. The pinks look lovely against the Balmy Blue card base.

This card is perfect for a child’s birthday and it was super quick and easy to make.

Happy stamping.
