A BIG THANK YOU CARD

Hello and welcome to each of you. Thanks for popping by to see what I’ve been up to.

Today I wanted to share a ‘slimline’ card that I’ve made. Don’t be mistaken in thinking that it’s a small card; it’s actually 8-1/2″ long and 4″ wide. I made it this size so that I could use the new Thanks and Hello Embossing Folder and the Biggest Wish Stamp Set.

I used my Stamparatus to stamp the large ‘thanks’ greeting around all four corners of the card. The embossed panel was made by using the folder to emboss all three cardstock colours. These were then cut into pieces that allowed me to overlay and adhere each of them at 2″ intervals.

The tricolour panel was popped up over the centre of the card using Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I used a length of the Real Red Stitched Grosgrain Ribbon, from the Playful Pets Trim Combo Pack, to tie a bow. I did think about adding some Red Rhinestone Basic Jewels but then thought it might be too much – what do you think?

The Biggest Wish Stamp Set is going to be so versatile. I love the combination of the big, bold upper case font and the lovely, looping lower case font in this set. I’m looking forward to creating some more projects using it.

Is this set on your wishlist? How would you use it?

Happy stamping.

MONDAY IN THE SLOW LANE

Hello and thank you for popping by. I am always so grateful to each of you who take some time to see what I have been creating.

I had hoped to post today’s project a little earlier in the day but I’ve been a bit slow today. The good news is that I have also made two more projects and will have them scheduled to share tomorrow and Wednesday.

Today, I’m sharing ‘hugs’.

I stamped the large floral and ‘hugs’ image onto shimmery White cardstock using StazOn Jet Black ink. This allowed me to use Water Painters to colour the image with Blushing Bride, Garden Green, Pear Pizzazz and Pumpkin Pie. once the ink was dry, I used the Detailed Trio Punch to create the corner features of the image layer.

Using the corresponding die from the Layering Hugs Dies to cut out the White Vellum layer that was positioned over the water coloured image. This made the colouring look even lighter. The die cut layer is not as large as the stamped image, so the water colouring is able to spill out from behind the vellum. I used the small, single floral image on the card insert and envelope before using the Pear Pizzazz and Pumpkin Pie Stampin’ Write Markers™. Last, but not least, I tied a bow some of the using the Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon.

I had thought about adding some Pale Papaya 2021-2023 In Colour Jewels but I only had two left – and, you all know that I’m an uneven number type of crafter. I will definitely need to order some more of these very, very soon.

What do you think? Who would you send a ‘hugs’ card to?

Happy stamping.

GLOBAL DESIGN PROJECT #GDP294

Hello to each of you who have taken the time to pop by today. Thank you – I am grateful that you have. If you ever have any questions about my projects, please just ask.

I am posting my Global Design Project design early this week (woohoo – how’s that for being organised!)

Last week was a colour challenge and, for the first time, my card was chosen as one of the winning projects. I was so delighted when I saw the GDP post.

This week is a sketch challenge:

For today’s project I have continued to focus on the You’re a Peach Suite, as well as the Tailor Made Tags Dies.

I started by using the second largest of the angled tag dies to cut out spaces in a piece of the You’re a Peach Designer Series Paper because I wanted to create a negative space to correlate with the angled features of the sketch challenge. This layer was then popped up onto a Calypso Coral cardbase using Foam Adhesive Strips.

Then I cut two more, smaller tags – one in Balmy Blue and one in the striped DSP. The Balmy Blue tag was embossed using one of the Greenery Embossing Folders. Each tag had a die cut reinforcement in Calypso Coral added. Then small lengths of Whisper White Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon and Basic White Baker’s Twine, from the Essentials Pack, were tied through the tag opening. The sentiment, from the Sweet as a Peach Stamp Set, was stamped using Calypso Coral onto Basic White cardstock before being trimmed down. Finally, I added some 2021-2023 In Colour Jewels onto the card front. I used the Soft Succulent jewels that appear to be a blue/green on the paper.

I used the smallest of the angled tag dies to cut pieces of DSP and cardstock to layer and adhere to the card insert and front of the envelope.

I am so pleased with the way this card looks. Participating in blog hops and challenges is a great way to create in ways I would not normally choose myself. It’s always good to move out of your comfort zone, from time to time, and keep things new and fresh.

What do you think? Is this the type of card you would have made using this sketch challenge?

Happy stamping.
