My Coffee & Card classes restarted last week. It was lovely to spend time with lovely, local ladies as we made some super easy cards from the Sentimental Rose Card Kit.
I asked Monday’s group what type of card they would like to make next time. After looking through the Annual Catalogue, they decided on a feminine birthday card using the Sending Hugs Stamp Set.
The large image is stamped using the Stamparatur and Jet Black StazOn onto Shimmery White cardstock. It was coloured using both of the Watercolour Pencils Assortment Packs. I used a Blender Pen to blend to colour smooth.
This piece of cardstock was cut using the second largest Stitched Rectangle Dies. I also cut a larger Flirty Flamingo layer. These layers were stcuk together at an angle. I coloured a length of White 1/4″ Crinkled Seam Binding Ribbon using the dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends pen. The bow was tied and secured using a Mini Glue Dot and then wrapped around the two die cut layers.
I partially stamped the ”on your special day” for the “on your” die cut piece. The “birthday” sentiment was an individual stamp. The front panels were secured on a Basic White card base. I stamped and coloured the single floral image on the inside of the card and the envelope.
The final touch was to colour some Opal Rounds using the dark Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends pen.
I went on to make two other cards that I can share at our next Coffee & Card class to show other ways the bundle can be used.
For this card, I started by stamping the single flower image across a piece of Flirth Flamingo cardstock. Then I used the largest of the Layering Hugs Dies to cut out the centre.
A piece of Basic White cardstock had Adhesive Sheet attached and cut using the same die. The Flirty Flamingo layer was centred on the front of the Misty Moonlight card base.using quite a few Stampin’ Dimensionals.
After peeling off the Adhesive Sheet backing, the white die cut piece was placed inside the negative space. The “on your birthday” elements were made in the same way as the first card. I added three Opal Rounds (but it seems that one has fallen off – oops).
For the second card, I stamped ‘birthday’ (from the Biggest Wish Stamp Set) twice and then embossed a Basic White panel using the Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder. I also embossed a smaller panel of Flirty Flamingo cardstock using the dots Checks & Dots Embossing Folder. After they were glued together, a length of white Faux Linen Ribbon from the Flowers for Every Season Ribbon Combo Pack was then tied, cut and wrapped around the front panel. This was then adhered to the Misty Moonlight card base.
The Flirty Flamingo die cut piece, from the earlier card, was then popped up on the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals. A small piece of Misty Moonlight cardstock, with a piece of Adhesive Sheet attached, was used to die cut the letters from the ‘hugs’ die.
I am hoping that everyone who comes to Coffee & Card this week enjoy making the first card. There are some new techniques to try. I am also hoping that the other two cards spark interest in trying other techniques.
