A WEEK OF MOTHER’S DAY PROJECTS

In the lead up to Mother’s Day, I thought I would focus on projects for this special day.

My first project is in memory of my mum. I created a scrapbook layout and popped it in a shadow box frame.

I used this floral paper from the Celebratory Sips 12″x 12″ Designer Series Paper pack.

The title was made by adding Adhesive Sheet to the back of some BLackberry Bliss card and then cutting the letters out using the Alphabet A La Mode Dies.

The three photos were mounted on Blackberry Bliss mattes and attached to the DSP.

Finally I cut lots and lots of flowers and leaves in the coordinating colours and attached them to the white matte to create cascading floral features.

The flower dies are from the Country Flowers Dies and the leaves from the Thankful Garden Dies.

The top left photo is mum in 1952 when she was 12. The larger photo is from 1962 when she was 22 and the last photo was from 1965 just after we returned from an overseas Air Force posting.

I love the idea of framing a scrapbook layout and having it out on display for the family to see.

My next post will be a Mother’s Day card.

Until them, happy stamping and scrapbooking.

I will be able to create a product list, with all the new products, from May 6th. In the meantime I will share a partial current product list.

IT’S FRIDAY & TIME FOR A FABULOUS FUN FOLD CARD

My card today is inspired by an Easy Explosion Card that Patty Bennett recently shared. As she mentioned, this is a great card for using your 6″x 6″ Designer Series Paper.

Thank you Patty!

Here is the card she inspried.

I started with a Timid Tiger card base and then used a 6″x 6″ piece of one of the Celebratory Sips DSP for the exploding card insert.

The card front had a 4 1/8″x 4 1/8″ panel of Old Olive card and a 4″x 4″ piece of the DSP.

I stamped the greetnig, in Timid Tiger, and then cut it with one of the Stylish Shapes Dies circles.

Then I cut an Old Olive circle from the Spotlight on Nature Dies set.

Before layering the circles and adding them to the card front, I cut a strip of Secret Sea card and a length of Gold Striped Mesh Ribbon, to place behind them.

I added one of the fussy cut glasses to the card front.

The exploding insert is very easy to create.

I added Basic White and Old Olive square die cuts inside the card.

The same greeting from the front of the card was also stamped inside.

Finally, I added one of the fussy cut glasses inside the card.

I’m not sure what I will be featuring next but I will have something for you – stay tuned!

Until then, happy stamping and scrapbooking.

WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEDNESDAY

Last June, Stampin’ Up! introduced a new blog on their US website. You can find it now by clicking on the logo below.

Take the time to check it out and find loads of inspiration.

Today’s card was inspired by an image on the Stampin’ Up! Online Store. I decided to CASE it (copy and share everything).

I kept most of the features of the original card (above) but added my own spin.

I used an additional panel of the Designer Series Paper and switched the arrangement of the DSP and cardstock.

I used three of the tall, textured and die cut vases. Two were coloured using blending brushes and Peach Pie and Secret Sea ink.

Before placing the vases on the card front I stamped, cut and coloured the three different leaf stems and adhered them to the back of the vases.

The card insert and back of the envelope both had the Cloud Cover DSP added.

The greeting was stamped and cut with one of the banner dies.

Finally I added some Metallic Gems to the card front.

Tomorrow I have a 3D gift box to share with you.

Until then, happy stamping and scrapbooking.
