COLOUR INKSPIRATION CHALLENGE #145

I’m hoping that I have fixed my website issues after spending a long time trying to resolve the error message I was getting.

Welcome to another fun Colour INKspiration Challenge!

You can find Colour INKspiration Challenges on Facebook and there are two challenges every month (on the second and fourth Wednesdays) and what a striking colour combo we have this round.

I love the refreshing colours that were chosen for this challenge.

The challenge for CI#145 is to make a paper craft project using all the colours from the chosen colour combination, Lemon Lime Twist, Tahitian Tide and Blueberry Bushel. You may also add Basic White, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Basic Black or Metallics to your project. We also allow ‘Ivory’ and ‘Bronze’ in the Stampin’ Blends. If you don’t have all the colour palette, feel free to use the closest SU substitute (ie: Azure Afternoon instead of Tahitian Tide)

So, here is my contribution to the #145 Colour INKspiration Challenge.

For this card I decided to use the Translucent Florals stamp set ad coordinating dies, as well as the Dots & Spots Die.

I stamped the flowers and leaves, using the colours of this challenge, and then die cut them. The stamps really do create an amazing translucent effect.

For the background, I took strips of the cardstock and die cut them. They were then trimmed to fit the card front.

Before attaching the die cut panels, I wove a length of Lemon Lime Twist ribbon, from the Ribbon Duo Combo Pack, throught the Blueberry Bushel panel. As the two ends came through, I tied them in a bow.

The Lemon Lime Twist and Tahitian Tide die cut pieces were adhered directly onto the card front. Then the Blueberry Bushel layer was popped up using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

Then I arranged the die cut elements, overlaying them, to create a cascading effect.

This close up image shows the amazing texture created when you use this stamp. It looks like a faux linen.

The sentiment is from the Translucent Florals stamp set. I stamped it and then simply trimmed it into a rectangular shape.

To finish the card, I added some Lemon Lime Twist embellishments from the Tinsel Gems Four-Pack.

I am so very happy with this card.

I have some new projects coming your way – stay tuned!

COLOUR INKSPIRATION CHALLENGE #144

I am so pleased that I am back on schedule with my project for this challenge (and the next one!). I have been late for the last few and have even missed a couple.

This challenge is a sweet treat! Chilled layers of tasty ice cream is always a great INKspiration.

With ice creamproviding the inspiration I knew that I had to use the Shake a Milkshake stamp set. I would have used the dies as well but I cannot find them. How is it possible to misplace a full set of dies?

Here is the sweet card I made – five sweet ice cream cups.

Each of the five dessert cups were stamped in Azure Afternoon. These were then cut using one of the Nested Essentials Dies.

Then I stamped the Bubble Bath, Crushed Curry, Lemon Lolly and Parakeet Party ice cream onto Basic White cardstock. The central ice cream was stamped in Versamark onto Bubble Bath card and heat embossed in white. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to pop the ice cream up and over the dessert cup.

Four of the ice cream panels were adhered directly onto the Bubble Bath matte layer. The Lemon Lolly panel was placed diagonally on the card front, with Stampin’ Dimensionals to give it height.

The sentiment was stamped directly on the card front before I added some of the Opaque Ovals embellishments to finish the card.

Now it is time to try and find my missing Milkshake Dies – again!

Until next time, happy stamping.

CATCHING UP WITH COLOUR INKSPIRATION #CI143

My last post was a month ago – I know, where has the time gone and why have I been so inconsistent.

In that time, I totally missed posting my #CI142 creation.

No photo description available.

The colours for the latest challenge are the new 2023-2025 In Colours.

May be an image of boots and text that says 'Copper Clay #143 COLOUR e NKSPIRATION CHALLENGES In Wild Wheat Boho Blue the of 3 least at Moody Mauve hoos Pebbled Path'

It will be interesting to see how many use all the new In Colours in their challenge projects.

Here is my contribution.

I was inspired by Patty Bennett’s cards showcasing thumbnail images of her father’s watercolour paintings. His paintings are so stunning. It is no wonder that Patty is as talented as she is – apple/tree!

Stampin Up! crafting with you easel cards featuring watercolor paintings by Jim Burns. Cards by Patty Bennett

For my card, I chose a small panel from one of the designer papers from the Fresh as a Daisy 12″x 12″ DSP bundle.

The easel was stamped and die cut. Then I cut the ‘canvas’ in half to accommodate the larger DSP image.

I used a sharp cutting tool to create slits in the easel to ‘hold’ the ‘canvas’ image.

I used trimmmed half a sheet of Copper Clay for the card base.

A panel of Boho Blue cardstock was given texture by using the Exposed Brick 3D Embossing Folder.

I used my Stamparatus to stamp the paint brushes evenly down a strip of Basic White cardstock. The brushes were coloured in the new In Colours.

The paintbrush strip, easel and sentiment panel were all attached to the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

To finish the card, I ties a bow using the Boho Blue Jute Trim and some of the coordinating 2023-2025 In Colour Dots.

The card insert and envelope each have the paint brushes stamped in Pebbled Path.

I am so pleased that I have caught up with my Colour INKspiration challenge post – NOW, it’s time to make sure that the next one is added within the deadlines.

My next challenge is to start participating in the GDP challenges again.

Until then, happy stamping.
