Hello to those of you who have popped by today. I always love to see the countries that you come from – this shows in my WordPress reports each day.

For today’s project I chose the What’s Cookin’ Bundle. As soon as I saw this bundle, in the new 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue, I knew it would be on my wishlist. I have always loved cooking and was a Home Economics teacher for most of my 35 years of teaching. (P.S. I also really loved sewing and textiles and everything Home Ec related).

I also wanted to use the Give It a Whirl Dies to have some fun. I began by cutting the key components of the ‘whirl’ mechanism. This allowed me to position the stitched rectangle shape for the top layer. Then I was able to make some faint pencil outlines on the spinning circle to be able to stamp the three elements that you see when the scalloped spinner: ‘Happiness is Homemade’, ‘What’s Cookin’?’, and the three chefs’ toques.

After the three elements were stamped, I went on to the front panel. I used my Stamparatus to carefully position the mixing bowl so that I could step stamp five bowls. I used Soft Sea Foam to stamp the bowls.

I stamped and fussy cut four of the utensils to position onto the upper layer – using Crumb Cake, Soft Suede and Gray Granite. The egg lifter was cut, from Basic Gray cardstock, using the lifter from the Cookin’ Dies. Before adhering this top layer, using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I stamped the saucepans image around the outer edges of the card front. This allowed sufficient space for the turning mechanism to work effectively.

I stamped the chef toques onto the card insert and envelope front.

This is what the collection, of most of the products I used for this project, looks like. I was so excited to see brads return to our catalogue. The Round & Square Brads, in black and white, will be so incredibly useful!

What do you think of my SPINNER, SPINNER … WHAT’S FOR DINNER? card? I am very pleased with my first adventure with this bundle and am starting to think of other ways to use it.

Today I’m sharing my project for this week’s Global Design Project theme challenge – #GDP295.

For this project I decided to use the new Batik Boutique Bundle.

I love these stylised flowers and leaves. They are going to loads of fun to create with.

After choosing the stamp set and dies, I chose colours to coordinate with the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels. I wanted to make a split front card and have the flowers growing up through the opening.

In keeping with the theme – flowers need water to grow, so I used the Water Painters to help these flowers ‘grow’. I stamped the flowers onto Shimmery White cardstock, using Jet Black StazOn.

After the flowers were dry, I cut them using the coordinating Batik Dies and then added some Clear Wink of Stella. For the split front layer, I cut a piece of Night of Navy cardstock measuring 5-3/4″x 4-1/4″. Then I stamped two images from the Batik Boutique Stamp Set onto that piece of cardstock using the same colour ink. Then I placed a tick mark 1″ in from the top left corner along the top and down the left side. I used these marks and the bottom right hand corner to line up along the paper trimmer.

The next step was to position the flowers evenly along each side and secure them in place. The two triangular pieces were then glued into place and the floweres interwined. After gently shaping the flowers and leaves, each flower had a Stampin’ Dimensional placed behind it so that it would stay lifted. I stamped the same floral image inside the card and onto the envelope.

The sentiment comes from the Dragonfly Garden Stamp Set and this layer was cut using one of the Tasteful Label Dies. The finishing touch was to add the Holiday Rhinestone Basic Jewels.

So, what do you think of my growing garden? I’m not sure if I would have thought of this card design if it wasn’t for the GDP challenge. I am enjoying being part of a couple of blog hops and challenges each week.

For today’s project I wanted to use the new Hats Off Bundle from the Stampin’ Up!© 2021-2022 Annual Catalogue.

My initial inspiration for using this bundle was from a family holiday experience back in 2017. Rob and I travelled with our daughters, Ashleigh and Kate, to the US for four weeks. During our stay in San Fransisco we hired bicycles, from ‘Burning Saddles’ and rode these bikes from Fishermans’ Wharf to Sausalito. At one of our stops Rob left his Tasmanian Cradle Mountain cap on the picnic table. He had trekked the Cradle Mountain walk with his friend, and our best man, Ed Manley.

To begin with, I knew that I wanted to create three different caps for the project. I also knew that I wanted the brims of each cap to be of different colours.

I also used several cardstock, Classic Stampin’ Pads and Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack colours – Basic Black, Basic White, Cinnamon Cider, Misty Moonlight, Old Olive and Poppy Parade.

I created three different caps and needed to make a slimline card to accommodate them. Each cap was created using a different combination of colours and features. The card at the bottom of the card was actually insired by a cap worn by a man I saw ordering a coffee at my local cafe this morning.

The cardbase front measures 8-1/2″x 4″. I cut a piece of In Good Taste Designer Series Paper to use as a later on the card front – 8-1/4″x 3-3/4″. Using three of the Baker’s Twine Essentials Pack twines, I double wrapped the twine before tying it off in a simple knot. Then I adhered one of the caps under the twine using Stampin’ Dimensionals. The other two caps were then adhered, also using Dimensionals. The sentiments were stamped and cut using one of Stitched Rectangle Dies.

For the card insert I cut the mini baseball cap in each of the five different colours used for the card front. Then I stacked them on top of each other to create this awesome cap stack. Does this look like a cap stack that someone you know has? Who would you send this card to?
