A SENTIMENTAL ROSE

Hello and welcome to today’s post. Thanks for popping by.

My project is a second card inspired by the Sentimental Rose Card Kit.

Today’s card is based on the ‘thank you’ card in the top right hand corner of the image above.

This card also let’s me show a way to use Embossing Folders for this week’s Freshly Brewed Projects Blog Hop.

I started by recreating the soft, watercolour wash using Flirty Flamingo, So Saffron and Soft Succulent. Then I used the new Pretty Flowers Embossing Folder to add texture to a piece of Shimmery White cardstock. The next step was to flick the brush end of the same colour Stampin’ Blends to achieve some great splatter effect.

After the embossed layer was attached to the card front, I stamped the rose image three times – without reinking it. When the three floral layers were cut, scrunched and glued together it was attached to a Square Vellum Doily and popped up on the card front using Stampin’ Dimensionals.

I cut a length of Soft Succulent Open Weave Ribbon, cut it in half and tied a double bow, using some Silver Simply Elegant Trim to secure it. A Mini Glue Dot was used to attach it to the card front. The birthday greeting was stamped in Soft Succulent and was cut using one of the Stitched Rectangle Dies.

The finaI step was to stamp the rose on the card insert and envelope.

Make sure you pop on over to see what the other Freshly Brewed Projects team has created to share with you:

Now I have another very pretty birthday card to add to the birthday box. Who would you give this card to?

Happy stamping.
